These filters are not the same, materials or manufacturing-wise as the original that came with my fridge last week.They are the same size and fit in the same filter compartment, but...(top filter in my picture is this product, bottom is original)The textile material in these is much thicker (which means air flows through it less easily) and the surface area of the filter is much larger (the folds run in the opposite orientation). So, as far as mimicking the original, probably not what you are looking for.That said, given how the filter compartment in the fridge is made and what the filter is made of, I don't find the filter Frigidaire designed particularly effective at much of anything, either.

The air filters is a nice replacement for the Frigidaire refrigerators. It fits pretty well in the filter slot on the back of the refrigerator. Installation was straightforward and easy. It seems like it's a little thinner than the original products, but it's adequate and works well. There's no smells and it keeps the odors down in the fridge. The price is a lot lower and economically friendly than the originals. It's a fraction of the cost of the originals which run around $15 for one. This comes with 5 pieces which is a huge plus. I have no problem purchasing these again.

I was so excited to find these air filters available in a pack of six! I have been using these filters for the past year and a half, and they seem to work great. However, I don't really have anything to compare them to since we've never gone without a filter in place, so I'm not sure what the air quality would be like without them.We're renting a home, and the first time I purchased the filter, I bought it directly from Frigidaire, which was quite expensive. I read that the filters need to be changed every six months, so I did some research and found them cheaper on Amazon, but never this affordable. I'm extremely happy these were available, as it saves me the trouble of searching for a deal every six months!

I just bought a brand new Frigidaire refrigerator from Lowe’s, and unlike my old fridge, it comes with an air filter to reduce fridge odors. So I looked in the manual to see how often it would need changing and what I should order as a replacement part. Then I looked it up on Lowe’s website. And they wanted $15 for ONE lousy 4-inch filter. Are you kidding me?! Then I checked Amazon and found this 6-pack currently selling much cheaper. The filters are the exact size I need and look as well-made as the original filter that came with my new fridge. The only differences between the filters in this 6-pack and my original is that these filters have cardboard cross-bars across the pleated charcoal media and the original that came with my new fridge is one large opening in the cardboard. No big deal—I doubt the cross-bars will affect the efficiency at all. The other difference is that my original filter had installation directions printed on the back of the filter, and these filters do not. The directions on the original specifically admonish you to “make sure the carbon media is facing outward.” (Interestingly enough—that direction was NOT included in my manual.) Anyway, that’s no big thing either, as once you’ve installed the original, you should know how to do it again. So, at current prices as of this review, you could pay $15 for ONE filter or $11 for SIX! You do the math. Recommended.
