I purchased this goof ring to cover up a round opening in my ceiling. I replaced a recessed light with a ceiling fan, and the fan’s diameter was smaller than the recessed light’s. The result looks good.

We replaced a dining room light and the existing hole was too large. It covered it perfectly. Just make sure that you measure before you purchase.

Just an fyi note to the manf. I had to use the goof plate due to the light in place was not longer available. The shelf light replacements for the 4” light from either Home Depot or Lowes fit but their ring was too small to cover the hole. I needed the ring to be 5 3/4” outside to outside which was impossible to find. Plan B. Get a goof ring.The ID of the ring was probably 1/16”+ a little to small it just wouldn’t slide of the housing of the lights… it was catching on two of four screw heads. I had to unloosed the screws and “work” the ring… literally forcing it over. I didn’t want to use a screwdriver to pry it over.After installing I noticed and slight gap around the ring but a little silicone will hide this area…But overall I am satisfied with the product, quality and finish….you made it available when the box stores didn’t carry it. Thank you.

I bought these after I installed wafer recess lights in my condo. These a great at hiding imperfections, dents in the ceiling where I made the holes. Easy to install and look great

The ring is a thin piece of metal, which is great. I was trying to install a track light with a small head but my ceiling hole was too big. The reason I give 4 and not 5 stars is thing arrived with a couple scratches on one side that the seller tried to cover with white paint or white out. Luckily I could flip it so no one sees them but come on, give me a new one when I order new.
