My 2003 Monte Carlo trunk actuator stopped working… I could hit the release button, and I could hear a motor run for a couple seconds, but trunk would not pop open. Found the part on Amazon, and it even had matching part numbers. Ordered part, and got in less than 2 days. The part easily installs with 2 screws and a single connector, and probably took about 3 minutes. Success! We’ll see how long it lasts…

I bought a 93 caprice 8 yrs ago. 6 years ago the trunk started malfunctioning. I had no idea what it was. I went all this time banging on my trunk to get it open. It turned out to be a cheap fix. Brought this part and it worked perfectly. Very easy to install.

The old trunk release "latch had broken off". Not sure if it was defective in manufacture. I cannot believe it was broken just by opening andclosing the trunk lid. It lasted from 1998 to 2016. I do not want to have to purchase another trunk release due to a defective part, or onethat is not designed to last. The electrical part of the trunk release was still working on the old trunk release. So far, the new release is performing as expected, and I am very pleased.
