Product Description

Park Tool ATD-1.2 in use

Park Tool ATD-1.2 Adjustable Torque Driver – 4 to 6 Nm

With carbon fiber components and low torque specifications becoming more common on bicycle components, a torque driver is an essential tool for bike maintenance, adjustment and assembly. The Park Tool ATD-1.2 is a shop-quality adjustable torque driver that limits torque applied to bolts and fasteners. The torque setting of the ATD-1.2 is adjustable by hand to either 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, or 6 Newton meters (Nm). Once the torque limit is reached, the tool gives a loud "click" and will not turn the fastener any further, preventing over-tightening and damage to lightweight components. Includes 1/4" drive bits in the 4 most common sizes for small bicycle fasteners (3mm, 4mm, 5mm and T25), which are stored in the handle when not in use.

The ATD-1.2 features all-metal internal construction for years of accurate use, with a comfortable, ergonomic composite molded grip. Each tool is assembled and calibrated at our factory in Minnesota.

With today's proliferation of carbon bike parts that cannot be over-torqued, the Park Tool ATD 1.2 is a godsend. As soon as I got mine, I tested it against two high-end digital torque wrenches and it was perfectly calibrated. After using it for two years, I tested it again and found it was still exactly on the money (make sure you reset it down to the lowest torque setting of 4 N m when not in use). Fits the hand, tough, and very accurate. Makes working with high-end carbon components SO much easier, .... five stars.

Pro-grade tool that is probably excessive for the casual home bike mechanic. It's incredibly solid and the torque clutch works like a charm that I have no worries tightening screws clamping over carbon.

This tool is totally worth it! The most commonly used bit sizes to the convenient storage already make this a winner. The torque clutch on this thing is one of the best I’ve come across. It clicks and doesn’t allow room for error or further tightening of any sort. I was able to use this to realign and evenly tighten my bike’s brake caliper which prevented my disc from rubbing the pad while moving and no more squealing. It was so easy to use and super quick. I would recommend this to anybody who is looking to make some adjustments on their bike of any sort!

Definitely didn't think I'd use this so much but it's just so convenient. Has several bit options that are stored on the tool itself. Just a really well thought out product.

The torque wrench works great, you can definately feel when the bolt reaches its torque value. However a little big to be able to use on every fastener. Missing Allen bits, not a big deal bought a set from Amazon

Nice tool, but it can take a bit of force to adjust the torque setting. At first, I thought mine was jammed or broken, nope, just gotta turn harder. Some grip tabs other than knurling on the adjuster would help.

I recently picked up the Park Tool ATD-1.2 Adjustable Torque Driver and, folks, this tool is a game changer for anyone who treats their bike like a royal carriage. It’s like having a personal bike butler who always tightens bolts to just the right snugness—never too loose, never too tight, always just right. With adjustable settings between 4 to 6 Newton meters, this tool is like the Goldilocks of the bike maintenance world. The ATD-1.2 is elegantly simple, brilliantly precise, and built like a small tank with a friendly demeanor. No more guessing games with your bolts, which means no more apologies to your bike at the end of a ride. Whether you're a casual cyclist or a pro mechanic, this torque driver will elevate your bike maintenance game to the level of a smooth and safe ride every time. Hats off to Park Tool for keeping things tight without the fright!

So useful, I'm always attaching stuff and then removing it of my bikes depending on where I'm riding (work, off road, visiting people etc) and this torque driver is so easy to use.

It's Park Tool. It's not cheap, but it's not "cheap".If you're torquing a set of pedals to a bike, it does not matter too much if you toque them to 45 NM or 40 NM. It's tight, and it's a lot of torque. It's also the sort of job that this torque wrench is *not* designed for. This torque wrench excels at torquing smaller bolts to precise low number torque settings, and that's where a precise value is important. Need to attach a brake lever to a carbon bar and you don't want to exceed 4 NM? Attaching a seat collar and you don't want to exceed 6nm to avoid damaging a very expensive carbon frame? This wrench is the way to go. It allows you to precisely set the torque in these situations in 0.5 NM increments and the wrench produces an audible "click" when you reach the torque spec. The wrench also comes with several of the most standard bits you typically need when installing small bolts on a bike and the bits store nicely in the handle.I've owned this torque wrench for awhile along with several other bike torque wrenches of varying sizes. This is my "go to" torque wrench about 90% of the time when I need a torque wrench.

I really like the cam release feature of this tool compared to the soft click release of some of the ratchet style wrench designs. Once it reaches the set torque setting it releases. For the majority of adjustments I make this cam release and the simple torque setting is what I need.It 's shape is not suited for tight spaces, or adding extensions but I think its good for handle bars and seat post adjustments. The torque range of 4 to 6 in 1/2 nm increments is unusual and suits my Giant bicycle requirements. I can turn the knurled adjustment knob by hand from 4 to 5.5 but getting to 6, I need an Allen wrench. It's expensive for its limited torque range but its' similar in price to competitors - and I have confidence in the Park brand. End of the day for more complex repairs that require more torque I may end up buying another tool. But that is the world of tools, the right tool for the job - this one is easy to reach for and use for mundane tasks. Built like a tank - a bit heavy
