I wanted to store my boxes of pan pastels with minimal space. These pastel storage containers keep my pans safe and flat allowing me to stack easily and save a lot of shelf space. The see thru plastic allows me to choose the color much easier than when I stored them in boxes. Such a great find. I will be buying more in the future.

This tray is a wonderful example of product design, providing a perfect solution for a very reasonable price, if you use the pan-style pastels. These cases are simply a treat to use and I recommend them as a sound buying decision. Those pastels are bloody expensive, and worth protecting!

These plastic trays look flimsy and easy to break. The tray holds and keeps the pan pastel securely for storage or use directly from the pan. Nice system.

Well if you need to keep your PanPastels secure and accessible then these trays are what you need. They are expensive but worthwhile, utilising the fact that the trays have 4 pans on one side you can keep the colours in their tint range,1 exDark, 3 Shade, 5 Colour, and 8 Tint making it easier to paint in tonal values. The pans click into place and are held tightly until you want to remove them. If you find it difficult to remove them then just screw one of the lids back on and it makes the task much easier. In fact I recommend that you remove them using this method as it saves any attempts at forcing them out and fingers scratching across the surface of the pan or adjoining pans and upsetting the surface of the pans.I have read that some people experience problems of the tray lid not being a tight fit, all you need to do is put two lids on just 2 of the 20 pans, one at each end works best and press the lid down and it becomes a perfectly secure lid.

I have two of these. I was a bit disappointed in the material...clear almost bendable plastic. It isn't like a solid pallet, which is what I expected. That said, I am glad I bought them. The pastel jars fit snugly and stay put. It is better then stacking them in a box, you can see your colors all at once. So I like them. I would just like them to be made with heavier plastic.

I am new to pan pastels, having just picked up my first set of ten in the painting colors. The reviews for this product were good so decided to make this purchase at the same time. The vinyl used in this is very clear, flexible, but not brittle. I believe it will work beautifully for a very long time, with moderate care in handling. The pans fit in snugly, and indeed may pose some problem in trying to remove them, so keep that in mind when you consider where you choose to place your colors. The lid seals off each pan area so that there is minimal cross contact of the colors. I had two of my pastel pans arrive with some crumbling on the surface. The other 8 were intact. I am not concerned that the pastels have lost value or use with the crumbling, but I was concerned that the powdered pigments would spill over the other pans. The lid construction prevents this from happening.Bottom line for me is that this is a reasonable price for a product that is of excellent quality materials, and very serviceable design.
