This controller does exactly what I hoped it would do.It has three functions - volume, mono and mute - all of which it does very well indeed. For my studio, I didn't need all the bells and whistles that other controllers provide - I wanted something to simply control overall level and mono/stereo image from both my DAWs and computer which this does perfectly well without any noise or artefacts..There is a weight and quality of build, and the volume knob is weighted perfectly for me.I particularly liked having XLR among the connectivity options - this customer is delighted.

This is a very helpful unit to have when running 2 sets of monitors. Simple & easy to switch between the two sets. I haven’t noticed any difference in sound quality or any tonal effect when using it, which is so crucial when mixing or mastering.

The Palmer Monicon is a simple device, and well-finished. Looks good sitting on a piece of nice furniture. Doesn't color the sound at all. FYI, you can use all of the inputs and outputs at the same time, i.e., plug sources into the XLR and 1/8" inputs at the same time—you won't disable them. At the same time, plug a set of active speakers into the XLR outputs and a subwoofer into the 1/8" jack. They'll all work.BTW, this product is designed and works just like the Senal PMC-II monitor controller but it looks better and you have to order it from Europe. Price is similar.

Vale más que otros, pero todo se ve sólido, bien hecho y duradero. La funcionalidad, pues poco que decir, funciona y no mete ruido.Yo para la salida a los monitores, no escatimaría. Muy recomendable.

The problem with passive volume controls is that they're often light. Stiff cables will push them around, like the tail wagging the dog. Not this guy. Has a nice heft. Labeled attenuation is a nice touch. Speaking of touch, the knob is big and tactile, with nice resistance. It's just a volume control, but really nice.It was oddly hard to find a nice balanced passive volume control. The Nobsound Little Bear is O.K., but a bit too light, and the impedance is a bit high. This guy is just right.

You get what you pay for here. High quality metal housing with a smooth volume control knob. Nothing about this unit feels or operates cheap. Prior to this, I had a TC Electronic Level Pilot. It shorted out on me after 3 years of use leaving artifacts in the audio playback when adjusting levels. While this may seem expected or petty, when you pay $90-$100 for a passive volume controller, you want it to work for life.Go with this product. You won't be disappointed no matter what your application may be.

Very quiet unit. Perfect for switching my alternate speakers on. My only complaint would be the mute button which I will be using a lot is flimsy. So far so good.

Absolutely smooth and noiseless. I use this going from a MacBook Pro out to a pair of JBL powered studio monitors and the sound is clean, the dial is smooth, and it's really nice to have a tactile volume control for my setup. Worth every penny!

First to review? Ok Then! There was little on YouTube, but I did found a lot about this product on a German website since it is made in Germany. This is a passive monitor control. I have 3.5 mm going in (option for XLR male and 1/4inch trs inputs also). Then I have Two Female to male XLR cables going out to my two monitors. This thing is STURDY, heavy, and will not move. The KNOB is Silk smooth with a just a hint of resistance to give you the fine volume control. The Mute and Mono buttons are satisfying to click and work as intended. You could go get a 50 buck Emotiva Control freak or TC electronics knob, but they dont have the inputs/output options that the Monicon do nor the build quality. Not to mention this thing is beautiful!I splurged and paid 99 bucks for it. I think it was worth it and believe it will last a long time.
