My school has been ordering this paper for the past 2 years for preschool-grade school art. Even though it's better suited for use with dry materials, this paper was pretty versatile, and produced wonderful results with watercolors and tempera paints too.Recently, the new batch of paper (4809) has been so disheartening to work with. The paper is very smooth, absorbs too much water but not color. When used with watercolors, the resulting artwork is pale, with a faded look. Applying another layer of color does not help because the paper becomes too soggy. It's a mess when the younger children have to deal with the water and color imbalance.I'm wondering if the manufacturer changed the paper quality. It's a pity since this used to be great paper at an economical price.
