Is much heavier duty than I thought when purchased. All supports are metal and need to be tapped in to place. Can easily store a hundred+ pounds per shelf no problem. Took me about 45 minutes to assemble by myself and I didn't have instructions (they were included, but I didn't see them - they were in between the shelves in the package).

Why I am rating it low:I set it up as two shelves as shown in the video. I weigh 180lbs and decided to test it out by trying to lay on the top shelf. The shelf buckled before I took one foot off the ground. The description says it can support a total of 1650lbs at 350lbs per shelf.By the way if you decide to set it up as two shelfs, I only received 9 end caps. The instructions say you get 8 in the box. You will need to purchase more, if you want to cap all the ends. Where can you purchase more of them, however, I do not know. I tried looking on Amazon for some but came up with nothing that works because of the way the supports are folded to hide the cutouts.Also, you don't get that connector shown in the video for when using only 4 shelves.Looks and Feel:Mine had some scratches right out of the box but overall it does look nice once set up. The texture of the black coating also feels nice. Hand prints show up quite easily on it, however, and this is probably why they provide white gloves for you when to put it together. The support rails and post feel sturdy though the metal is a bit thin. Despite the extra ribs on the actual shelves, they feel flimsy as the sheet metal that makes up the surface of the shelf is very thin. That should have been my first clue to not try and lay on it.Setup:It is not difficult to setup by yourself though having an additional person would make things easier. No additional tools are needed other than the small mallet they provide. Since the metal is thin, I recommend being gentil. You are going to tap the support beams to get them to sit in the stamped out rungs. Nothing locks in place which can be a problem once you have it setup and are putting and pulling things off the shelf.Additional Thoughts:I read one reviewer was using this as an aquarium stand. Considering the weight of a 10 gallon aquarium or one that is larger, I would not recommend it. Maybe under specific circumstances you can get it to hold up the stated weight capacity but for everyday use the recommended load should be far, far less. Using this to store 1,000lbs would be like playing a game of Jenga with your life on the line. Sure, it's possible to stack up everything nice and tidy but there will be a point where a slight nudge or a pull in the wrong way can topple everything down. For that reason I would not use this in a busy garage where you have to pull heavy items off it and put them back on.

The shelves are very easy to assemble, but make sure all the parts are there before you start assembly. The shelf surfaces are in their own package, and some of the parts are sandwiched between them. That means you have to cut shipping straps and unwrap the shelve surfaces to check for all the parts. The directions say to contact us [presumably the manufacturer] with questions, but they don't list a phone number or email address. If any parts are missing, you will have to package everything up and return it to Amazon. There is no mention of a warranty in the directions or on Amazon's web site.Fortunately, everything was in my box. The shelves were well designed and manufactured. Assembly was easy and intuitive, and the directions clear. Make sure that you hammer the shelf supports all the way down. The shelf surfaces rest on and in the supports. The directions tell you to install the shelf surfaces last, but that is not necessary. Depending on the shelf spacing that you use, if you do that you may have to feed the surfaces down from the top of the unit.

Large, sturdy, & holds a lot of stuff! Extra bonus is that it looks nice & not like a typical garage shelving unit. I was originally planning to get a Moducase but with a few small mods this is the perfect shelf. I still have some BIG Godzilla figures to display & so far they all fit great.Assembly is super straightforward & simple. If I could change anything it would be for the shelves themselves to be a bit thicker. They are a thin metal sheet with a supporting rod underneath.

I bought this shelf to store my client's file boxes on, and it fits the bill well! Pros: perfect size for a small space, easy to assemble, sturdy, not too heavy to move if needed, and attractive. Cons: it took a month to receive, the sheet metal on the shelves could be a little thicker, and I wish I had one more shelf for the top.

They are sturdy, if you use common sense in regards to what you stack on them. I wouldn't risk maxing out the weight per shelf allowance though. I knew that going in, and these are perfect for my intended use. Light weight once assembled, they were very easy to put together. I bought two sets and put both together by myself; and while a second person would certainly have been helpful for the base, after that it really is a one person job. I like the matte powder coating they have as well. Came with a small rubber mallet, perfect for the assembly job and a pair of cloth gloves. I am quite satisfied with them.
