It took a moment to get the hang of it but once I did, I'll never go back. Great quality and sharp looking. Super functional. It's all you need to pop that cork.

Works great. Other reviews say that it can be difficult to remove the cork from the corkscrew — this is just not true. After extracting the cork, just turn the screw backwards, the cork just pops out. However, do know that this is rather big to fit into a utiliity drawer with other items. If you aren't opening wine all the time, and if your drawers are already full, get a smaller waiter's style corkscrew, because you'll want to store this baby on the counter or the table.

This corkscrew has the quality I have come to expect from Oxo products. I don't think I've ever had one that let me down, from vegetable peelers to coffee grinders. The foil cutter works well, given a firm squeeze. The corkscrew is large, about nine inches with the foil cutter in the storage position. Some reviews have mentioned difficulty getting corks off the screw. The technique that works every time for me is to hold the wings down and turn the screw backwards. Then pull the wings up and the cork will be easy to grasp and remove.

There's something satisfying about effortlessly opening a bottle of wine, and with this nifty little tool, I've been doing just that. Gone are the days of struggling with unwieldy corkscrews and broken cork mishaps. This waiter's corkscrew has been a game-changer in my wine experience.Crafted with durability in mind, it feels robust yet elegantly designed, fitting comfortably in my hand. Its stainless steel construction gives it a sleek look, which is always a conversation starter at dinner parties. The double-hinged lever is a standout feature, providing extra leverage that makes pulling even the most stubborn corks a breeze. I've noticed it works equally well on synthetic and natural corks, a versatility I didn't expect but greatly appreciate. The built-in foil cutter is another highlight, neatly and efficiently removing foil without any extra tools needed. It’s small things like this that make a big difference, especially when I'm trying to impress guests. Additionally, the non-stick screw glides smoothly into the cork, ensuring no crumbling or breaking. As someone who enjoys a glass of wine regularly, this corkscrew has become an indispensable part of my evening routine. It's robust, functional, and stylish - a rare combination. It's also compact enough to take on picnics or trips, making it perfect for wine lovers on the go.This corkscrew isn't just a tool; it's a testament to how the right product can elevate everyday experiences. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just enjoy the occasional glass, it offers a blend of functionality and elegance that's hard to beat. It’s turned opening a bottle of wine from a task into an experience, something I look forward to every time.

So it is a cork screw. So what? This device is awesome. The foil cutter works great. The screw is Teflon coated and screws into the toughest of synthetic corks with ease with little damage to fragile old corks. Then the double cam shifts the push rod as You lift for greater leverage. It is nice and wide for a Nice grip. Great product!

like OXO products. This corkscrew works well – and I've opened many bottles of wine – but it has a major design flaw. The first hinge of this two-hinge wine bottle opener snags on the cork as you pull up, b/c the hinge overlaps the lip of the bottle, and ends up shredding the top half of the cork. Every time. It opens bottles with remarkable ease, the worm is nicely designed, but OXO blew it on the hinge design. Yeah, you can finesse it to get it to not shred the cork, but it's an extra action you shouldn't have to take. I sent it back.

As someone who drinks wine very regularly, I've tried many different types and versions of corkscrews. While the rabbit and wing styles are easy, they are, in my opinion, way too bulky to store and carry to be worth buying. When I finally wore down my favorite, just a simple hinged waiter's corkscrew, I decided to get this OXO version. We like OXO here in my house and own plenty of their gadgets. This functions very well as a hinged waiter's style corkscrew, but without some of the moving pieces that broke down on the last one that I loved. The "hinge" is more of a pop-out feature inside (rather than outside) the handle, making it a little less likely to get banged around in a drawer, cooler, etc. The handle has that good OXO texture, making it easy to grip and use.The corkscrew itself is nice and sharp, easily starting the entry into the cork. The foil knife is my only complaint - while it is very visually appealing, it's a little too curved for my taste and I find it awkward to flip out and use as easily as a straight blade. It's very sturdy, and I am sure I'll get many good years of service out of this compact little tool.
