I have 2 Maltese dogs and use this scale to measure out their food. I occasionally use it to weigh out small batches of quick setting concrete. I've used the cheaper $20 kitchen scales but they only seem to last about 2 years. I liked the convenience of a small scale and wanted a better quality scale. I've found that the difference in design, quality and durability is worth the increase in price. The numbers on the pad are large and easy to read and it detaches from the scale allowing easy weighing of larger size items. The stainless steel top plate is removable for easy cleaning and the batteries last longer.

My son’s girlfriend wanted a scale to measure out her coffee beans so I got her the OXO scale. I own one as well and use it to weigh many foods as I am trying to increase my protein intake. I find OXO products to be high quality. The scale is very accurate, and very durable. I have owned mine for over 10 years and it still works like new. She is very pleased with the ease of use.

This scale is our third electronic scale and the best so far. The long timeout is great when there are steps between adding ingredients to the bowl. The scale is big enough that we don’t need to pull out the display very often but it’s a handy feature when we weigh the occasional bulky item. The pull out display also makes cleaning the scale easier. Battery life has been very good, we use the scale a lot and a set of rechargeable batteries lasts for a year or more.I’m not sure why the scale has units for “grams” and “kilograms and grams” since there really isn’t any difference. Just makes for one more unit to step through when switching between metric and imperial.

Purchased these to replace an ageing set of cheap glass scales. Arrived promptly and was surprised by how large and weighted they are, certainly feel like a quality piece of equipment. They have a large surface area to accomodate most sized bowls, a nice bright display and have the added bonus of being able to extend the display out away from the scale when large containers are being weighed. Really good quality and very well calibrated, I'd say they are probably as good as domestic scales you can buy before getting into professional bakers scales. Well worth the purchase, slightly pricier than the average kitchen scale but justified so.

This has immediately tuned into my favorite scale I’ve ever used. I wasn’t aware that there could be such large differences between kitchen scales, and have used a cheap one for a long time. I finally decided to get a new one though after seeing this one recommended in a baking book for its pull out display ability when measuring large bowls.Immediately the build and heft of the scale out of the box felt very high quality. It doesn’t feel cheap like my previous scale. I really like how large the weighing surface is, and the stainless steel looks really nice. The extending display is super amazing to have when I need it, and has really nice magnets to hold it in the proper place when not being used. The display is big and readable, and very bright as well.There are some other functionalities and thoughtful design touches that this scale has that make it much nicer than my other scale as well, as OXO is known for. The modes of weighing are really versatile and simple, you can set it to show pounds and ounces or just ounces, or kilograms and grams or just grams, which is really nice to use depending on how the recipe phrases weights without having to do any math in your head (very easy for grams I know, but still).Overall, I love this scale and if you don’t have a kitchen scale, definitely get this one over any others. If you have a kitchen scale that’s getting old or not working the best, or you just want a nice looking upgrade, this scale will give you everything you’re looking for as well.

This scale is fantastic for what it's intended to do: weigh things. Super visible display, batteries are replaceable and cheap, and you get tenths of an ounce which is plenty accurate for cooks of all skill levels. You do have to remember to turn it off, but this also means it only shuts off when you want it to, not while you're weighing out ingredients and you realize you need to go find the coconut oil that's in the back of the pantry."But reviewer, I hardly ever bake! What am I going to use this thing for?"Even if you're not baking, if your recipe uses weight measurements, this will make your resulting dishes more consistent and much easier to control.If all your liquid measuring cups are occupied or dirty, you can measure water using the rhyme, "A pint's a pound the world around." It's not accurate everywhere, water can change density depending on factors like temperature and air pressure, but it's close enough for most tasks.If you're a barista or aspiring barista and you're trying to nail down a coffee recipe, you're going to need the mass of the beans and the water that goes in the brewing device. You'll have to use an app or a stopwatch to get the steep time.If you bought a big pile of bulk food (e.g. meat) from one of those big box stores, you can use this to portion it out in one-serving sizes, so whenever you need to cook, you pull one out from the freezer and you don't have to think about how much to use. For 30 minutes to an hour's work on the weekend, you save a bunch of money over any store-bought equivalent and you get the same convenience.

La báscula OXO good-grips es excepcional, revisé demasiados análisis realizados por colectivos de cocinas industriales estadounidenses con la finalidad de encontrar una báscula que fuera precisa, y duradera para uso continuo en la cocina, teniendo en cuenta que pueden haber derrames, y exposición a calor y frío, y esta báscula fue reportada como capaz de sobrevivir a ese tipo de exposición.La primera duró alrededor de 7-8 años, y sobrevivió una inundación accidental. Entonces considero que si cumple con esos reportes.El único “downside” que le encuentro es que el modelo previo permitía retirar el plato de metal para lavarlo, y colocarlo de nuevo, este modelo nuevo no lo permite y eso a mi se me hace menos conveniente. Pero confío mucho que la marca mantiene los mismos estándares de calidad y precisión previos.
