This is a great, high-quality chalk line.The line itself is less "fuzzy" than others, which feels better and stronger. But it still holds chalk and snaps a clean line.It reels in incredibly quickly, and the metal winder handle is nice (I have broken the plastic handle off other metal-bodied chalk lines from the big box store). I also really appreciate the button it has to unlock the winder so you can pull the string out without the handle also spinning.Then the body is nice heavy-duty aluminum and should last forever.All-around great upgrade from my previous cheapie plastic chalk lines.

As someone who has chalk lines in every color and quality, I am going to say this is a middle of the pack chalk line, especially for the price. The gearing is crunchy in the one I received. I am sure that will wear in with time. It does make a nice bold line. The chalk does not flow out of the refill container easily. I ended up taking the top off of it and pouting it in.

This chalk line has an excellent rugged feel to it. The geared winder pulls in a long line in quickly. The included chalk works well and is east to refill. The all-metal enclosure looks pretty cool too! Great value for money.

This product is high quality, I feel like I could drop it off a roof onto concrete multiple times and it wouldn't even have a dent. The hook stays where I put it and winding it back up takes no time. The mechanism for winding is actually really smooth. It also comes with chalk powder which is a nice addition. It doesn't feel like some cheap junk I think this will be in my toolbox for the rest of my life.

This is overall a good product that has a useful set of features versus your standard chalk line. For starters The retrieval gear ratio makes using this chalk line effortless. When you have 100ft of line out, the 6:1 gear ratio brings it back in a hurry. To release the line, there is no need to open the crank handle and have it spin the entire time. Simply push the clutch button in the center of the crank handle and the line will unspool freely. On the side of the aluminum case is a slot for hook storage and on the back it include a pin to anchor the hook if need be. There is also a gasket to seal the cap and prevent chalk from leaking.Now my complaints about this combo. They are really very minor, but the rest of the chalk box is very sturdy and made from aluminum. The cap however is cheap plastic. Why skimp on this part when the rest is so solid. My second gripe is the chalk. Compared to other chalk I've use, the color is much duller and harder to see, and the chalk seems clumpy and does not flow from the bottle well. Minor grips, but ultimately I am pleased with this purchase.

The OX Pro 100ft Contractor Aluminum Chalk Line with 4oz Chalk Powder is by far the best I’ve used. The chalk color stands out clearly on various surfaces—patio stones, lawn, bricks—you name it. The reel winds smoothly without binding or requiring excessive pressure, which is a common issue with other chalk lines. Plus, the included chalk powder makes it a convenient, all-in-one purchase. Highly recommend!
