This could be the best Android based CarPlay/Android Auto device on the market. It feels faster and has a better interface than the other device like this I have experience with. Sadly, it has one huge, glaring flaw. There is no way to install any other apps on it. It comes with YouTube, Netflix, and Spotify. If you want anything else, this is not the device for you. I tried to sideload apps using a USB drive and it gives an error. I found the Google Play Store in the settings and tried to install apps that way and that also failed. They seem to be blocking the installation of all apps. It's a real shame because this could have been the best device of this category I've used yet.

OTTOCAST might not be one of those brands that everyone is familiar with but they definitely have their 'niche'. They've established a rep for making some of the best automotive wireless streaming adapters on the market. The Play2Video is so named due to several built in video streaming apps (Netflix, YouTube, IPTV, along with Spotify, and YouTube Music) but the end user can't download additional apps to the device. One of the nice things about the product is that it allows seamless switching between the built in Android 12 system, Android Auto and CarPlay. Setup is simple--or it least it was in my car. It interfaces perfectly with the car's factory installed voice controls, steering wheel controls and touch screen. According to the company, more interface compatibility such as the audio device volume knob is forthcoming. Sound quality is excellent, lag is minimal. Even if you *don't* plan to watch videos in your car (in most situations not a good idea) this is a first rate streaming adapter for audio. Highly recommended!

Does not allow Hulu, Disney +. These are the only 2 apps my kiddos watch, and this does not support them. Also says that it comes with Tiktok and Prime video, however ours did not.

Pros: Ultimately this is a device that does what it says; allows you to watch Netflix and YouTube on your in car entertainment screen. Connecting was quite simple and painless. Quite easy to connect to my phone tether. The device is small and well made.Cons: quite with quite a bit of lag when pushing in screen buttons. There is significant audio sync issues with about a 0.5 -1 second delay. Overall is a pretty decent device but quite expensive for what it achieves.

It’s fast, responsive, and set up was super easy. The sound quality is nice, almost no lag, great for streaming music and videos. It comes with YouTube, Netflix, and Spotify, which cover most entertainment needs. Very good quality in my opinion.

I put it in my 2020 civic and man I am happy. I’m able to play movies from Netflix. We wait on the car quite a bit. Now I can put movies on for my little one. It was very easy to just plug in and follow the instructions. The device is small and sleek.it connects well to the car and my phone.
