Your cart is empty.Removing a broken stud can be a tricky, time consuming undertaking. Pro's know boring a well centered hole is key to using extractors effectively. OTC now offers a solution to assist you with drilling a perfectly centered hole! The 6982DGS from OTC allows you to anchor off a good stud to perfectly center a drilling alignment guide over a broken one. Place the slot of the rail guide over any good hole with appropriate size bushing and loosely secure with good stud. Slide/pivot opening in rail guide over broken stud and insert alignment guide for drilling. Tighten stud to hold alignment and begin drilling. The OTC 6982DGS comes with 4 alignment guides for "progressive drilling". To cover most applications we also provide 4 bushings in 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, sizes. Instructions weren’t much. Once it was figured out it is a good product for its specific design. It works. But setting up instructions need a a lot of work. My only complaint. A little bit pricey but any tool that isn’t cheap is usually just that.

From a professional shop, or a do it yourself garage this product is incredible. Use it for drilling out broken bolts or studs perfectly every time. Set up is quick and the hole is always perfectly straight. If you would like a how to video, throw me a like and I will be happy to make one.

I had an exhaust manifold bolt broken off down inside the head located the furthest back on the passenger side on my 350 Chevy engine. Without messing things up, this was the only tool I could think to purchase to get the job done right. As you can see in my photos it worked and using a right angle drill attachment I was able to drill a perfectly centered hole into the piece of bolt without damaging the head in any way. I may never use this tool again, but the job got done right and I did it myself without the help of a machine shop.

Bought this tool after trying to drill out broken exhaust bolts on a 6.8l. The drill will go off center and would be a headache to get out and have to tap. But now that j bought this tool everything is so fast and easy perfect center drill and extracts everytime saves time and frustration.

The OTC Tools 6982DGS Drilling Guide System tool helped to create a perfectly centered hole within a broken exhaust manifold stud.Some tips, use a small old camera to take photos in an effort to check the started hole to ensure the hole is centered. Continually check the hole while drilling as well as redundantly checking the hole depths against the length of the studs, to ensure the hole does not compromise the engine block water jacket. Use drilling oil/paste. Prevent the drill bits from over-heating while drilling into metal.

This product works great and is way cheaper than drill guides made specifically for exhaust manifolds. I was worried about the quality when I ordered it. However, the adjustable guide is very thick and sturdy, the drill guides work very well, and the attaching system is very sound and holds well. I used the tool to correct a very off center pilot hole. This tool was able to hold securely and guide my new hole perfectly center while the bit was being pulled by the old pilot hole. I was amazed that it worked as well as it did. This is possibly the best purchase I have made on Amazon.
