These are overpriced and extremely delicate. I returned mine as I wasn't pleased with the performance for the price. Audio Technica was more reasonably priced and performed better on my Denon p-mount turntable. The stylus is difficult to remove and install on some of the Ortofon model cartridges, as others have stated.

Bought this 10 as an upgrade to my 5 because the needle snapped off but it arrived with the needle also snapped off and nowhere to be found in the packaging. Perhaps the design of this stylus is prone to snapping?

I purchased this OM10 stylus as a replacement for the OM5E stylus supplied with my Project Primary turntable. I've read that the 10 has slighly better tracking ability, so I thought it would be a step up from the original stylus. I accidentally damaged the old stylus on a cloth whilst cleaning a record, so I can't compare them side by side, but I'm sure the 10 sounds brighter and cleaner than the 5. I'm certainly very pleased - it sounds great and was an absolute doddle to fit. I adjusted the tracking force on the turntable from the 1.75g that it was set to for the 5E to the 1.5g reccomended for the 10 (using a £10 Proster digital force scale that I got from Amazon) and that was honestly the hardest part. Changing the stylus itself is a 5 second job. Slide the old one off, slide the new one on. Whilst I was changing them over, I kept the stylus guard on the new stylus until it was properly in place. Delivery from Digitalis Trading (FBA) was next day, even though I ordered well into the evening. It arrived perfectly packaged in an Ortofon branded box with a neat little plastic stand inside to protect it, the box is marked Made in Denmark. The stylus itself is Ortofon branded too (unlike the one supplied with the turntable). I looked into cheaper 3rd party options, but they seemed to be spherical rather that eliptical, with much heavier tracking force. Everywhere I looked wanted £55 for a genuine OM10 so I just paid the price. I guess it has a diamond on the end of it, and in the grand scheme of stylus this is considered cheap!

I bought this stylus since the used vintage turntable I purchased had an Ortofon OM-3e cartridge on it, and the OM-10 replacement stylus fits the cartridge and provides a modest upgrade at very little cost (on the order of $75). I did not expect much because this is a budget level "audiophile" stylus - basically, I bought this as a place holder stylus so I could get the "new" turntable working properly without risking damage to my records from the pre-existing used stylus of unknown condition - but I have been pretty impressed. The OM-10 tracks reasonably well even in a mid effective mass tonearm and produces a very balanced sound with acceptable channel separation. Its relatively high dynamic compliance (25 um/uM at 10 Hz) makes this a strong budget choice for tonearms with effective mass of about 10 to 15 grams.

I got this to replace my ortofon OM5E stylus on my U-turn Orbit. It’s about $10-$20 more than the former needle but I think it sounds way better as far as a more even sound. I thought the OM5E had a bit too much bottom and some hip hop felt a bit distorted but this has a better overall clear crisp sound.

After long research and considering other options (Ortofon 2m Red $99.00, and Nagaoka MP110 $119.00), I decided to go with replacing only the stylus of my Ortofon OM5e with OM10. Replacing the cartridge installed on Pro Ject turntables is a pain, and I don't wanna bother at all with that. I red a lot of forums and over and over again I saw the same opinion that OM10 is actually better performer than more expensive Ortofon 2M Red. Per my experience I would say that OM10 is better than OM5e. Sound is spacious ,clear and detailed. Great mids and highs. Good separation .Very enjoyable sound and good uprgrade without breaking the bank. If you own some expensive turntable , installing high end cartridge is a must, but on $350.00 Pro Ject Debut III to install $200.00 cartridge is a joke. OM10 tracks light at 1.5 gram. At $63.00 you not going to regret this buy. You get better sound at bargain price. No brainer.

I noticed that there are a number of questions in the difference in sound quality between the om5e and the om10 stylis as a replacement. There a subtle differences between the 5e and the 10.A. The 10 is 1.5 grams; 5e is 1.75 grams tracking forceB. The Cantilever is more slender on the 10 than the 5e, thus more delicate.C. Though both tips use a bonded shank to seat the diamond tip and use an 8 x 18 micron ellipse, the shank is more slender giving more vibration transfer to the cantilever. The sound creates more detail and channel separation since less material transfers more vibration to the magnet. So on Project, U-turn, and other entry level audiophile turntables you probably hear the difference. You will need to adjust the tracking force with a scale on plug and play turntables. Other turntables that have lightweight aluminum cast platters that are hollow underneath might cause reflections that might interfere with the detail, so I am not sure I'd recommend it unless you have a thick turntable mat. A sub-platter with a free floating aluminum platter you might get away with it.Over all a worth while stylis for the extra 15 or so dollars.

Purchased as a replacement stylus for my Ortofon OM10 Super cartridge. Elliptical diamond. Great frequency response and channel separation. Needs only 1.5g tracking force, and very little anti-skate lateral force. Comes with a neat little clear cylindrical case, with a stand to hold other Ortofon OM styli. Also comes with a stylus protector that slips over the tip. Mine was purchased from and fulfilled by Music Direct, and it was quite overpackaged, but it arrived quickly and safely. The cartridge sounds brand new again, and my vinyl is happy. A highly recommended stylus for the OM series, which is a dizzying array of both Hi-Fi and DJ oriented cartridges, each with unique qualities. I'm not a DJ, but love my vinyl, and have a decent setup. The OM Super cartridge has been discontinued, so I'd recommend snapping one up ASAP while they're still available as N.O.S.. While you're at it, buy an extra stylus. The OM10 is a great value, it's not a nude diamond like the OM20, but still sounds wonderful, with excellent frequency response (
