One of the pins broke when I tried to push the clip out. I used a center punch and hammer to break the clip free then used the pin to push it out. Then when I went to crush the new clip tip when it was almost finished I noticed the clamp starting to spread apart so I stopped and used a hammer on the clamp while tight to finish the job. So the material could be stronger.

Haven't used it yet but looks like it will do the job and competitively priced with storage case

Started to bend the tip of the pin the very first time I used it… maybe better on smaller like cam chains. We shall see. Little disappointed but then again you get what you pay for.

The two parts I used broke immediately, the pin to drive out the chain link peened over on the end making it unusable, and the press anvil centering pin pulled out on first use.Sent it back for a refund, wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, spend a bit more and buy a quality tool instead.

I was a little worried about this cheap chain breaker seeing all the negative reviews and pics of broken pins. I needed the 2.2 pin specifically for breaking a motorcycle cam chain. As long as you’re gentle and careful it worked no problem for me. Nice alternative to the more expensive breakers out there.

Generic cheap chain tool, fairly certain these all come from the same factory at wildly different prices. I’ve used this to press out and rivet a master link. When pressing out you have to use an angle grinder to grind down the head of the rivet or at best case you’re really going to wear out the tool much faster and more likely you’ll break it before it breaks your chain. For flaring the rivets it works. You have to thread the handle in or the clamp will bend. These things last two or 3 uses before they break. That’s the nature of these cheap chain tools. 3 uses is like 60,000-90,000 miles for me though so much better than spending 4-5x as much for a tool that’ll last me 6-10 years and likely be lost.

This tool works on chain. But it is a bit flimsy like the other people say. I give it a 4 stars because it does work to break and rivets motorcycle chain. I used it on 525 chain. The pin is spread out and needs hammering to get it out of the tube of the riveter.

At first, the material looks like it will do the job it was designed for. After properly setting it up to break the chain I need to replace, the break tip flared out and I had to use a longer wrench to make it work and push the pin through. Since the tip of the pin was already flared, I couldn't change it out and had to grind it down so that I can disassemble it, not to mention the spring getting stuck inside and could not remove it. After struggling with the chain breaker set up, I switched it over to flare out the pins on the new chain. I thought it was holding up to the amount of torque I was giving it to see a decent amount of flaring but I notced that the body of the tool was bent. Though I can still use it to some degree, I would not recommend this tool to anyone. Would give it 0 stars for its overall rating if it was an option. Yes, it was easy to use and set up, not to mention versatile because it's 2 tools in 1 but like I said, material is way too soft for it's intended purpose.
