This product is definitely on the low side of the price scale which proves that you get what you pay for. It is difficult to use and leaves plenty of room for mistakes. Even when you use it properly,the results are not reliable and can vary by too high of a margin. If you require accuracy spend a little more and get a quality tool..

checking your chain slack shouldn't be complicated, take the guess work out with this nifty tool. I ride 250 miles a week to work so pretty much I should be checking my chain biweekly so this tool comes in handy.

This is a great tool to have for someone who has all the tools. You can do the job with just a ruler but the ease of use and functionality is a must have. The size doesnt take up the tool box either.

Lately whenever I adjusted my chain length it took too many tries of measuring and adjusting to get it right. These numerous attempts triggered a feeling of uncertainty that either the chain was too tight or too loose. Perhaps these insecure feelings were a result of a heightened awareness that riding mc's safely requires exacting maintenance standards. I've properly maintained my mc ever since bought 6 years ago. After my last frustrating chain adjustment I watched several "UTube's" on chain adjustment including one on the Motion Pro tension tool and impressed ordered one. Using this tool to measure chain tension is far superior to using a tape measure in my experience. I would recommend this to any mc rider. It's easy to use and provides peace of mind knowing this device will give an accurate measurement of chain tension.

I'm still learning , but it seems that this tool needs a little deft hand work to get it right. Nevertheless, it's still much better than crawling around with a scale ruler or using the 3-finger method. It's nice to have a good solid reference point and the readings are repeatable. Simple, small and easy to store. Okay: maybe 4.5 stars...

The directions aren't great but once you figure out how to use it, it measures chain sag/slack perfectly. I positioned the top of the device on the bottom of my swing arm and then pulled down to get the full extent of the chain sag/slack and it measured it perfectly as confirmed with a vernier caliper... but much easier than using the caliper. You can use it with the motorcycle in almost any angle of lean and on any surface... all of which are really hard to do with a vernier caliper but super easy with this tool. Highly recommend for anyone with a chain drive. This tool along with the Motion Pro Chain Alignment tool make it easy to set the chain sag/slack accurately and the alignment of the axle so that the chain tracks perfectly.
