Great line to use for halibut fishing. Durable line. This was bought to respool our halibut reels, where we can usually get about 2 to 3 years out of the line before we need to respool again. We average about 8 trips a year, so the line gets a decent amount of use each year.

The premier braid on the market. Very pricy, but worth it. I had to change my line out 3 times in a season with mono. Prower Pro lasts years. No stretch, very strong, durable and sensitive. The hi vis yellow is easy to see, but for most applications you with need to tie on a florocarbon leader which adds to the costWatch out for back lashes, which can be a nightmare with any braid, and wind knotsEvery reel I owns is spooled up with this braid. I just catch more fishThis said I would not recommend this for a beginner fisherman. Mono is much more forgiving.

When fishing on a charter boat, I still prefer to use my own gear. The boat I frequent for , requires the exclusive use of braided line. When I asked what to use, they recommended Power Pro, for reliability and consistency at the most reasonable price. Since using it successfully in the SF Bay for salmon, stripers, and halibut, I have since spooled it up on my rock fishing reels. This is stronger and more sensitive than mono line, so I can tell immediately when I'm getting a bite, or just hitting the bottom. As far as longevity goes that still remains to be seen, but so far i've used it on four consecutive salt water trips, and it does not show any wear. For rock cod I do run a short mono leader at the end because I find it easier to change lures.
