I purchased this to serve as a Time Machine device for my MacBook Pro, and it works great for that purpose. It's small, portable, fast, and offers plenty of storage space for Time Machine to work with. Just plug it in and it works.Great little device!

This ORICO 1TB Portable SSD is impressively tiny—only slightly bigger than a thumb drive, making it extremely portable and easy to carry around. While it works well, the outer casing feels a bit cheaper compared to bigger brand-name external SSDs. It’s made of lightweight plastic, which makes me question its long-term durability against unexpected drops.Transfer speeds are decent, but they don’t quite match the speeds of my Samsung or SanDisk external SSDs. That said, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly external SSD and don’t mind a slightly lower build quality and transfer speeds, this is not a bad option!

Bought this little drive for my DJ library and couldn't be happier. It is tiny, light and very very fast. Connected to my Denon SC live 4 I have no issues with searches and it stays cool. I added a little magnetic pad to it and it locks onto the speaker grill on the controller. The included cable is great, just short enough to not get in the way .If it pops up again I might just get a second as another backup

Very small and compact which makes it super easy to pack in your bag or carry in a key ring with you. I have a bunch of different ISOs, files, and documents I carry for work that I need to be able to use so this makes it super handy for me. It's a good size as well (storage capacity wise) but also incredibly fast so if I'm doing live boots or installs it's not the drive holding me back which honestly these days with high end nvme and processors usually would be the case. It's always nice to have something reliable but also economical.

This 1TB portable SSD from Orico is extremely compact. The drive comes with a short USB C to C cable with a C to A adapter attached on one end. The blue LED pulses when the drive is connected to my computer. The included cable does a great job of giving you the major connectivity options and not being so long it becomes less portable. In testing, I observed read and write speeds as high as ~996 MB/sec and ~819 MB/sec which meant gigabytes of files were being transferred in a handful of seconds, which is much more palatable than some of my conventional USB thumb drives that only transfer at around 20 MB/sec. My laptop is several years old so it's possible that there's newer USB 3 revisions that transfer even faster.I think this is a very fast version of portable storage and a sleek way to provide a broadly compatible USB C to C/A cable.

This is a true 1TB of data (or as close as can be expected for any storage device). My first concern with any storage device, is if it has a fake controller that misreports the actual storage space available, resulting in lost data once you exceed the actual storage space. I am happy to report, that after filling this with pseudo random numbers, then verifying them, that it appears to be a true 1TB of storage. After this completed, I moved 100 files, 1 GB each, filled with random data from a very fast SSD to this drive, and back again to better test real world speed. You can see the results in the attached screenshots.Writing speeds with the included cable started strong at over 600MB (Megabytes) per second, but it quickly dropped off to ~60MBps with a few spikes to 300 - 500 MBps. Not sure if this is due to filling a buffer, or if there we multiple sectors that hadn't been TRIMed from the previous random write, but either way, it's a good real world test.Read speeds were much better, averaging a little over 600 MBps, with just a few blips dropping, but quickly recovering.Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality at this price point, just a little disappointed with the write speeds when writing large amounts of data.

I haven't tested this with my PC because I was so quick on the draw with wanting to use it as external storage for my Xbox Series X, but from that perspective it works amazingly well.Because of its super tiny size, it puts my own 2.5" external drive that was attached to shame. I'd argue that it is noticeably faster, as well--which stands to reason given it's an SSD---but I don't have the tests to prove it. I just love that I can tack nearly a TB of extra storage onto the Xbox all while taking up a nearly imperceivable amount of space. (Note: you cannot play Xbox Series X games FROM this kind of drive, but you can play older games as well as transfer X games to it if you want). You can get a TB hard drive for a lot less, but you're generally not going to find one this compact of an SSD for a better price. Very cool little drive for just about any application.
