Kapok fiber is softer and lighter than down and feels like a mix between silk and cotton. Kapok is sustainably harvested from seed pods that are dropped from the Ceiba tree. It's a is a super comfy and eco-friendly alternative to poly fill perfect to use in pillows, duvets, upholstery, and dolls! Color: Natural

This is such a great natural alternative to polyester fiberfill. It’s as soft as goose down without hurting any animals.

The attached picture shows only about half of the loose dirt and crud that was in this 5lb bundle of fiber. The package was chock full of fine grit, soil and tiny bits of crumbled leaves and bark that were distributed throughout the fiber. The other half of the crud is still either mixed into the fiber I used (because I couldn't shake it loose), or it is all over my work table and my floor and in my lungs.I know this stuff is collected off the ground and is not washed, but there was no need to ship these dregs. Poor quality control. I was using it as padding to box fragile items. Can you imaging putting all that loose dust and gunk into a pillow?I'll never buy this brand again.

Very soft, but... prepare to be surrounded by a trillion tiny specs flying all over the air around you!! This stuff gets on everythig and it is a chore to remove. Had to vacuum the area when I was done, then used a wet cloth to remove all the fibers from my clothes and had to wash my face several times. I wore a mask to avoid breathing in the fibers, but I am sure a good deal of them got past the mask. So, with that caveat in mind, as far as the softness and value for the money, I would agree, it is a good purchase.

This kapok is beautiful quality! Very soft and clean. I found very few particles of cotton seed or casings, unlike other products I have ordered. I use this to fill Raggedy Ann dolls for very special children, so it matters to me that it is natural, clean and hypoallergenic. I love this!

I was excited about using the pillow. Unfortunately, I was up half the night because I could feel something sharp poking me.Took apart the pillow to find entire twigs and seeds in the material. having read the reviews prior to ordering I expected the material to be clean! Not only did it contain seeds there were entire twigs in i I have uploaded the picture I took of hat I found on taking the pillow apart next morning.

I have just restuffed some pillows with this kapok fiber, and I am pleased. They are very soft, there’s no odor, and there’s nothing poking through the fabric of the pillow. It was a bit messy handling the kapok fiber but nothing like feathers or shreddded foam. I did have to remove a few tiny twigs and leaves and pull apart some matted fiber, but overall it was soft and wonderful. I plan to buy some more, and will never use feathers, foam, or the polyester stuffing.
