Flag drippers function like drip emitters. While they are not pressure compensating, meaning the flow per hour (GPH) will vary according to pressure, they do have flow control which allows you to adjust them to a wide range of water application rates. This can be especially helpful for adjusting flow according to soil type in order to prevent runoff and for increasing flow as plants mature. They are superior to drip emitters in their ability to handle water with particulate in it. The flag color indicates the GPM of the dripper and is removeable for easy cleaning. The 10-32 male thread inlet on the flag dripper connects to a 6 or 12-inch drip stake with 10-32 female thread (FT). Available flows are 1, 2 and 4 gallons per hour (GPH). Recommended operating pressure is 30 PSI. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.

I didn't know anything about drip irrigation and I bought all kinds of stuff that didn't work.Just get some half inch drip pipe and a bunch of these and you'll be good to go.You just need an ice pick or even a sharp screwdriver to poke a hole in the half inch pipe stuff these in and forget it.I actually used the tool that came with my tire patch kit for putting plugs in to poke the holes. Can't go wrong here.I didn't see a lot of adjustment in them and some were different than others, but they work really well.

I installed my first drip system 5 years ago and since then I have needed to replace the dripper outlets a lot. The heads that I have been using are the normal ones that look like vertical discs that have an inlet on one side of the disc and an outlet on the other. If something gets in them or they get clogged the only option is to replace them.I had a bunch of heads again this year that were either dripping very slow or not dripping at all so I decided to try these out since they have the cap that you can take off the top possibly clean them out if anything gets stuck.Unfortunately, the drip nozzles in the front hard were installed under ground directly off the main line (installed by house builder) and so I had to dig up the entire main and replace it to do it the way I prefer (I should note that we live in the Phoenix area so there is not going to be an issue with freezing).Once I replaced the main and attached the branch lines back to it and installed the new outlets at the end of the lines they all worked well except for one. I was super happy when I took out the top plug from that head and let it flow for a couple seconds and when I put it back in the flow was perfect (clearly I got some dirt in it when installing).I am very happy so far as every time I have checked the lines since installing, all of the heads were flowing very well.
