  • OPTIMAL CONTROL: Optigard Ant Gel Bait from Syngenta is a high-performing bait product targeting all major ant species. It’s formulated with 0.01% Thiamethoxam, which offers unparalleled control of a broad spectrum of ants.
  • EASY APPLICATION: This stainless, odorless ant bait is known for its clear gel formulation that ants are attracted to and is easy for them to consume. Begin by inspecting and identifying ant infestations, whether they are indoors or outdoors. Apply the bait gel strategically in specific areas where ants are visibly trailing, including cracks, crevices, beneath appliances and in concealed spaces like attics and crawl spaces, to achieve comprehensive control.
  • TARGETS ALL MAJOR SPECIES: The sugar-based gel matrix of Optigard ant gel bait is highly attractive to ants, which makes it extremely effective on all major ant species.
  • EFFICIENT ANT CONTROL: Other baits can be too runny, which prevents ants from transporting the bait back to the colony. However, the consistency of Optigard Ant Gel Bait makes it easy for ants to carry to the colony and share with nestmates for full colony control.
  • COMPACT PACKAGING: Optigard Ant Gel Bait is packaged in ready-to-use, 30-gram syringes, making it easy to use. It should be applied where ants trail, forage or nest indoors and outdoors.

Optigard® Ant Gel Bait is a targeted ant control solution that is effective against a broad range of species including Argentine, big-headed, carpenter, cornfield, crazy, field, ghost, harvester, honey, little black, odorous house, pavement, pharaoh, pyramid, red imported fire, rover, thief and white-footed ants. Featuring the active ingredient Thiamethoxam at 0.01%, this clear and odorless ant-killer gel is ideal for indoor pest control. Easily apply the bait gel on any type of surface for efficient ant management to help ensure an ant-free environment in your home. For indoor and outdoor applications, inspect areas to assess the extent of the infestation and identify ants' foraging and nesting sites. Apply the ant bait in strategic locations such as cracks, crevices, under appliances, behind furniture and in garbage areas, attics and crawl spaces. With its effective mode of action, durable formulation and excellent acceptance among ants, you can trust Optigard Ant Gel Bait to offer the control you need to help provide a long-lasting, ant-free environment.

This gel has solved several ant infestation problems. The only problem we had was with the massive ant infestation that came with our recent heavy rains. Using the gel in the bathroom attracted massive hordes of ants that caused some panic. It was killing the ants to be sure, but it does attract nearby ants so be prepared for the influx!

This is an excellent ant killer. Just put it by the paths your using and within 1-2 days they are gone and stay gone. Only need to put it down when you see them. I have used this for the last several years and it works great! Highly recommend if you have any ant problem.

This is a really good product. It's the second time I bought this and the first lot lasted me two years. This time the ants found their way in through a tv cable. Luckily I saw them, ordered this and used it the next day. Ants were gone after a couple of days. It's easy to use and I think, such good value for money even though it's fairly expensive. You don't have to use much and it works from a syringe so there's no leaks. Apparently the ants take it back to the nest and it does its work there.

Have used with good overall results. "Overall": I've found that several months after purchase the gel not only loses effectiveness but thickens, resulting in the entire tube contents retracting in one long slug when raising the plunger after application. That's extremely messy to clean up - hard to get a grip on something with consistency of jelly. Maybe that means repurchasing more often. Because it has worked so effectively, I assume that's the case, will reorder.

I have to admit. I decided to try this because of the flamethrower review,(if you don't know what I am talking about go back and read it, totally worth the minute or less of your time) he wasn't wrong. I had a horrible sugar/pharaoh/pain in the a.. ant problem. I had been surviving just fine, working from home, taking care of the little ones, I admittedly got a little lax about where I allowed them to enjoy their snacks, and as any parent knows kids are messy....really messy and ants are the epic scavengers of the insect world. So these little buggers found the tasty morsels my sweet toothed spawn left in the nooks and crannies I didn't find. One day there was peace and harmony, the sun shone through the windows...and life was good...the next we were overtaken by a massive army of micro sized immortal specks running across every surface I owned. Nothing and I mean NOTHING I tried would even put a dent in their numbers. Day after day, product after product- squish after squish they came in droves. It got to the point where I almost just handed over the weekly grocery grab to satisfy their insatiable appetite, hoping that if I made such a peace offering they would gladly take the atonement and go away. 30 days, about a box of borax, a pound of sugar and 800 useless ant baits later I turned to the internet and its vast ominous knowledge determined to find something effective that wouldn't also sacrifice myself and my sons in the process. Now my mother, as well meaning as she is, has drank the Terro kool-aid. She swears by the stuff. I never had luck with any of it, but according to her it was the only thing she's ever tried that worked. How I don't know. Especially considering that we share the same roof, do the ants on her side of the house truly gobble that stuff up or has she begun to go blind? Perhaps there is an infestation of advanced ants on the west wing of our establishment where I reside. But one thing I know for sure is this stuff works. Yes, I tried the Terro bait....dare I say my "advanced" ants even laughed at me as they turned up their nose to the gel packs which laid in waiting. I even left them out thinking they needed to ferment to be effective, I waited a week and they remained untouched. Then I came upon the magic of Amazon and the flamethrower review, if I said I didn't read it because I wasn't considering using one I'd be lying to you, but this option was far less cheaper, just as efficient and caused no threat of personal or property damage if you followed the packaging rules. I was hooked. Shipping was speedy. Ease of use? Superb. Why this review is asking me about flavor I can't be sure. But I would give it 5 stars as an ant. I used post it notes as "plates" and placed them out along the ant's favorite spot in the room. As badly as I wanted to wait and see if they came and fell for my trap, I was always told a watched pot never boils so I walked away....but oh man I wasn't prepared for the sight I saw when I came back.....I returned to a thanksgiving FEAST, ants swarming the glob of goo I was ecstatic they actually took it...mid dance I stopped myself....but would it work!? The headline to this review is absolutely true. It was pure euthanization of an entire colony. I set out 2 different "plates" and within 2 days tops there was balance restored within the room. Not an ant in sight, oh there were bodies here and there but no living soul graced the presence of my space, save for myself. It was again quiet and the peace was restored as the sun shone across the floor in the room. It's been a month since that day. And no ant dare set tarsal claw in this room.If you're concerned about the price trust me it's worth it. You get A LOT of product enough that I have even given some away to others in need of such a remedy to their pain. I still have enough to last a lifetime..well mine at least not the ants because once you bust this out they haven't very long...

Greek ants must be different to British ants! They walked around it and never ate it even when I covered a dead locust with the gel.
