Winch gears are cheap and don't hold up. While cranking my boat up the gears started to skip, bend and now are completely stripped. Don't waste your money on chinese junk. No warranty on it so I threw it away and bought a Fulton which works flawlessly. Stick with the names you know when it comes to boat trailer winches is what I've now learned the hard way.

This winch was a replacement for Fulton winch that had been on trailer for 15 years on a saltwater boat. The new winch was great for about 10 trips then teeth started breaking and stripping. Nothing changed on how boat pulled on to trailer. The teeth and gears look like they are some kind of cheap metal compare to the steel hardened gears on Fulton winches. The price seemed to go to be true and it was I simply bought this winch for price and because it was red. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY ON THIS WINCH! It is trash! Was well within the working load limit of 3500 pounds for this winch which is a false rating I would say it is rated more for around 1000 pounds.

Item appears well made but from the other reviews it seems that this item always have handle missing. I would like for seller to send me a handle so that I can use this item.

We purchased three of the hand crank winches to first assist the installation of 300 lb 8”x 8” wooden posts. We set the first post by hand and quickly realized there had to be a better way. The hand crank made it easy to safely lift the posts and slide into the holes. Once all the posts were in place, we used the three cranks to raise a Sunsetter awning into place. Very durable. Easy to use. Safety latches made it perform well.
