These onigiri molds are a great addition to my rice molding collection. I love that they come in three sizes, making it easy to customize portions for the family. The non-stick design makes it simple to remove the rice without any mess. Best of all, I can press the rice really firmly to get a compact, well-shaped onigiri every time. Super easy to use and clean.

So I am testing my hand at homemade sushi making. So far sushi rolls have been a huge fail, spam musubi (which turns out to be a more Hawaiian dish) has been my only success and I had a mold for that, next I am wanting to make onigiri. With a mold I seem to have a higher chance at success, so this makes me very excited and I love how there are 3 different sizes so I definitely do not have to go the biggest but I can test out as small as I want.I also love and appreciate the serving spoon with the grooves is a life saver for filling molds, my other musubi molds did not have one, this one is very much appreciated. Good thickness once the mold is filled with rice, filling, and more rice. Highs and lows on this sushi journey but I have great hopes for these, highly recommend!

I don't eat raw fish, but I love veggie rolls. So we make them at home every once in a while. I wanted to try new shapes & this was super simple. Fun! Seaweed & rice & carrots & cucumber & avocado. It's WAY less expensive to make it at home.

Im sure that these are not the most authentic tools for making onigiri but my son has a lot of fun using them and they make a nicely packed rice triangle with any type of rice I make. I have put them through the dishwasher on the top rack to no ill effect. All in all, I am very pleased with these molds.

I'm quite happy with these onigiri molds, and since discovering yaki onigiri, I've been using them quite a bit! The plastic they are made of seems durable and the little push plates make removing the rice from the mold quite easy. They have quite easy to clean as well, but I haven't tried running them through the dishwasher yet.I especially appreciated that there are three sizes included, as my wife prefers a smaller portion than I do. There are so many ways to riff on an onigiri, and these molds make them so easy to assemble. Definitely recommend this!

I love these! These come in 3 great sizes, the plastic is thick, and are easy to unmold. It comes with the cutest rice paddle! I make and eat onigiri often and Iove these molds. They are easy to use, and I don't have to form the hot rice with my hands, which is the main reason I got these. You have to use Japanese sticky rice (short grain, high starch) to make onigiri. Won't work with low starch, long grain rice. Don't put the nori/seaweed sheet in the mold first like the pictures show/instruct. Great product! You won't be disappointed!

This set of 3 triangle molds are great for making onigiri! I didn't get any more shots because my husband was getting impatient and wanting to eat, but the single onigiri coated in furikake in the front is from the small mold, the 2 plain onigiri in the middle were made with medium mold, and the 2 yaki onigiri in the back were made with the large mold. The picture angle isn't very good at showing the difference in size, but there is a nice variety in the 3 sizes provided. The large mold actually makes slightly larger onigiri than what I have in the picture because I hand-packed the 2 large/yaki onigiri after popping them out of the mold to make the rice extra tight before grilling them (and they still fell apart a little bit on the edges because I'm not good at flipping them in close quarters in the skillet). There were no instructions included with these molds and the small rice paddle, but there are some general usage directions on the product page if you can't figure it out on your own. You can also always turn to the internet for tutorials and it's also a great source for finding onigiri recipes if you need them since those aren't included either. The most important thing is to make sure to use the right kind of rice; based on some of the pictures I've seen, it looks like maybe people who had issues with the rice not sticking together were using some sort of long grained rice, not a short-grained rice (aka japonica rice or sometimes labelled as "sushi rice" in the US). This is a Japanese dish that will work best if you use Japanese rice, or at least something similar. An included manual would have helped anyone who wasn't really familiar with onigiri, but at least you can very easily find very detailed answers on the internet, if needed.

First I layered the rice, meat then rice again. But this fell apart. The meat seem to have separated the rice on the top and the bottom. Nothing held them together. So next I tried to mix it all up. The rice, steamed veggies and shredded meat mixed all together. I thought the rice should hold it all together in a triangle. But this fell apart as well.I then drizzled teriyaki sauce in my mixture of rice, steamed veggies and shredded pork. I tried to shape them up in triangles again. But this time they held up. It seems it needs a sauce to hold them together. The second time I tried it, the same story. They fell apart unless I use a sauce. This time it’s bulgogi sauce I used to hold the food in shape.
