We have a window that was always a bit wonky, and then one day the balance on one side snapped. I decided to replace them both, but stressed about getting replacements because ours didn't have the coding on them all the sites say to look for. I picked the ones that looked similar and had the right weight limits and crossed my fingers. They fit perfectly and the window never functioned better!

A little more snug then the originals, had to give it a good shove to get the window in, but within tolerance to install and get that window back in service. Will be ordering more to have as on-hand spares.Pick up some window sash balance take-out clips while you're at it. The snugness caused one of mine to beak.

This product is used as replacement for a window balance, size 26-4, with broken string. It perfectly fits my sliding window and works good. But the delivered balance isn't stamped at all. I would suggest to the seller to stamp the balance. It would help in avoiding confusions in future replacements.
