Works good. Install is tricky. I used a socket to tap it in place in the factory hole. My hole was tight so I filed it quickly. Then SLOWLY close the door you’ll hear some popping sounds. Open it. Them do it again. Each time pulling the door tighter. Then it closed completely. Don’t slap it shut. It will break.

Be careful installing it. You have to adjust the length at install.Replace the original in the door jamb (I used a deep-well socket and a rubber hammer to press-fit it in) and THEN SLOWLY close the door.It will press the stalk LENGTH into the correct depth. If you slam the door, it will break the stem off - buy another & try again. The hardest part was getting the original out and the new one into the door jamb. Adjustment was easy.

When installing, the outer ring cracked. This is NOT my first rodeo installing door switches....but this one was like it was slightly oversized and required extra force to push it in until it snapped in to place. Also had to set the depth very close to where it needed by hand; normally you gently shut the door to set it, this switch would have broken off by doing that. However, the switch does work as designed; just be very aware when installing it or you’ll be buying another...

They fitted although I snapped one inserting/installing it - forget the idea that you insert and then closoor to push to the right depth - thats how you break them - rather you connect to the wiring harness and instert leaving it sticking out a long way and then tap it in with a socket or other object over it with a rubber mallet gently but firmly taping to slowly ease it into the right depthFragile is not the issue of the manufacturer, but rather the design and install method

Installed per instruction and other user recommendations. Installed easily and appeared to work, then broke the 3-4 time door was opened. Now I'm buying another.

I broke 3 of them because I didn't understand how to install. Set the length before putting in the door jam. Look at your old one to know how long. Using your hands only, push the plunger in to the correct depth then close the door SLOWLY the first time. I had trouble inserting it on my 2004 JT. I took a small 3/4"x3/4" block of wood and drilled out a hole for the plunger and used a rubber mallet to tap it in. Then it went in easily. It's been working for a month since I installed. I recommend ordering a spare due to the unclear way to install these.

this piece worked perfectly for my 05 TJ. Lots of reviews say it broke, but if you understand how it is installed you will understand why. If you replace the part and close the door as normal, it will break. you must go thru a process to make the length of the part fit to your door and to do that you must close the door very slowly and as you close you will hear a series of pops and that is the plastic barrel sliding to a shorter length. Slowly continue this process until the door is all the way closed. There are no instructions that come with the part, so it will be a wise idea to youtube it if you still have questions. Besides "calibrating" it to fit your particular door, its pretty easy installation....just unplug and plug in the new one....I did have to file the little tabs down a little to get it to fit in the hole....but not too much...they need to keep it in place. Pretty easy. Would definitely buy again.
