This tasted surprisingly good & I like the self-heating concept. As others have mentioned it’s a very small portion size, 200 calories. Not an adequate dinner for an adult after a long day of hiking- need to supplement it with something else. Also there is a danger of scalding yourself with the hot water in the packet. I let it sit for a while.

Nice tasting and we used ice cold water at a 10k foot campsite and the heating element quickly boiled it!

It worked as described. The heating packet works when you add water. It worked flawlessly and made the meal piping hot. Taste was very good as well. But the portion was ridiculously small. And, I'm a small person so I don't eat much. I learned about Omeals from the ICAST convention ad on YouTube and was hoping for something more. So, two stars for the very small portion. But everything else was good about it.

Out of the three varieties of Omeals I've tried so far the Pasta Fagioli easily beats the Beef Stew and Vegetarian Chili flavors. Your results may vary. This 8-ounce meal was delicious, with a good balance of herbs, spiciness and salt. The other two varieties were just *meh* in comparison.The heating packet worked perfectly with about 4 ounces of water (or other "liquid"). Napkin, spoon, salt and pepper are included.Great for emergencies, or when you just want a hot meal when the power goes out or the roads are too icy to venture out. Or you're doing that camping thing.

Beats the heck out of freeze dried food and conventional MREs. Tastes great and really gets hot! Good portion size for one individual. I'm hooked! A word of caution--the liquid in the pouch gets HOT, so careful with it.

I purchased several of these for hunting. I typically hike in about 4-5 miles in the forest, and these meals were a nice treat for lunch & dinner. I agree with the other reviewers that they are slightly more expensive MRE's, and the heaters work very well. They did have a slight chemical taste, and that was my major objection. Overall, I would buy them again.

Not much food in the bag for a hungry hiker. Be careful...this is a serving for 1. In many of the other brands, there is enough for 2 people.I will say the heating element was COOL and worked great! Food was hot and flavorful!
