1990 4runner 22re 5speed KYB shocks. When I got my 4r the suspension was really soft and tippy. To make it worse I put Toyota 16" alloy wheels on with 235/85/16 bfg ats. The back was worse so I put the Moog springs in the back. With that fixed I began to notice how soft the front was. I bottomed it out often. Not jumping it but hitting large bumps at speed. I wanted to firm up the front but not too firm. I don't have a winch on the front, just the stock bumper. There are a lot of choices for torsion bars and the OME seem to be the next step up(in spring rate/ firmness) from stock. I am very happy with the ride now and the front/back balance seems good. Firmer in back unloaded and perfect when loaded up. No more bottoming out even when I tried to. If I had a heavy winch or put in a bigger engine I might want to go with a thicker bar. I probably would have got the OME rear springs to match if I had realized how bad the front was but the Moogs are good too. The ride is more controlled now and not so tippy in the corners. I am very pleased.I got lucky with the install. The bolts weren't rusted on and the ends of the old bars had been greased enough that I was able to get them out without too much trouble. I have heard that others have not been so lucky and had to replace the adjustment bolt, after it broke, so be prepared.
