All my rods are 12 or 15 feet rods so I wanted something a little smaller that can handle the same load and casting distance and this rod did not disappoint…no problem pulling in a 6’ black tip or a 53 inch bull…rod is great

Packaging is less to be desired only thing protecting rod was plastic sleeve. Rod had 2 of the line eyes bent during shipping but I was was able to bend back without breaking. I would recommend some type of cardboard tube for shipping.

Really thought this was a quality product given the name . I bought 4 new rods for trolling , fist trip out one of the rods broke 6 inches from the top when rod got a hit. I kindly reached out to customer service to see about a replacement of if i could buy a top section not one damn response from voice mail or emails I sent. My other 3 are doing fine but it's sad a company like okuma can't respond to customers using there products. What a let down .

I've tried to get this item on Amazon twice now. Both times rod came damaged. First order the rod guide arrived completely bent backwards in an empty box with no additional packing to prevent damage. Second order rod looked like it was a winner in good condition (even had my brother look over it to make sure I didn't miss anything) that was until I connected two pieces together shook it a little bit to see the tips flexion only to hear a weird crackling sound. Did a little further inspection and found that the rod blank has a small crack underneath the wrap of the rod where the two pieces connected. If used on a fishing trip will definitely snap in half if hooked onto a large enough fish. Overall, just a bad experience ordering this item from Amazon. Ended up buying this same rod at a local big box sporting goods store with no issues and caught some big California halibut and striped bass. Good rod for the price but be warned if ordering off Amazon.

As a Lake Michigan salmon angler, I cannot recommend the Okuma Classic Pro GLT rods enough. These rods are an absolute must-have for anyone serious about catching salmon in the deep waters of Lake Michigan. One of the standout features of the Classic Pro GLT rods is their incredible sensitivity. The rods are incredibly responsive, allowing you to detect even the slightest nibble from a fish. This is especially important when trolling for salmon, as they can be notoriously finicky and difficult to catch.Another great feature of these rods is their durability. The Classic Pro GLT rods are built to last, with high-quality components that can withstand the rigors of saltwater fishing. This is essential when targeting salmon, as these fish can put up a fierce fight and can easily snap inferior rods.Additionally, the Classic Pro GLT rods are incredibly versatile. They come in a variety of lengths and line weights, making them suitable for a wide range of fishing techniques and conditions. Whether you're trolling for salmon, casting for steelhead, or jigging for lake trout, these rods are up to the task.

I got a couple of these rods 3 years ago and love them. I was looking to buy 2 more but they are no longer available on Amazon. I have used them on my down riggers and wire dipsey lines. They perform great. They are a little stiff, but a feature I like a lot.

This rod showed up with a damaged eyelet, I will be returning. Otherwise I was excited to give it a shot on some salmon trolling.

This is my second Classic Pro GLT, with my first combo package still going strong salmon fishing in Northern California. I fish the Okuma dragging a three pound ball on a sinker release. The rod flex at the tip is good while trolling and the flex in the rod keeps a steady tension on the fish when bringing it in. I have had better luck with the Classic Pro GLT then a number of gifted West Coast expensive rods that broke (twice) and had to be returned for the "lifetime warranty" that cost 75 bucks to replace the rod. When I was last out using the replaced "high end" rod I noticed the tip eye was starting to come apart so I decided a backup rod was needed. Looking at my Okuma that has gone on all the fishing trips the " West Coast " rod has gone on, the Okuma Rod looks great, all the eyes have stayed together, it hasn't broke, and it fishes well so i ordered another one. Just a quick update. Went out on a six pack party boat and found the supplied rods were these rods. Crew said they liked em and they kept the fish on the barbless hook nicely.
