Used this great tool to confirm the accurate oil pressure in my 2001 Buick Lesabre. Turns out the replacement AC Delco sensor I purchased was also bad. This helped me to properly diagnose the issue and know that my oil pressure was good and the vehicle was drivable.

The gauge is "Sticky" in that it doesn't begin to register until there is nearly 20 lbs. of pressure. So I purchased and Installed a quality gauge, and there was still no oil pressure. Then I found out the fitting is the wrong size so it leaked oil all over a newly rebuilt motor while registering ZERO oil pressure.I purchased and Installed the correct fitting and the leak was gone, but again there was no oil pressure. That's when I took off the gauge and put the hose on a bucket, and , you guessed it, there was no oil flowing from the open end of the hose when the engine was running. That's when I discovered that the valve in the hose that holds pressure for the gauge was defective and it wouldn't allow ANYTHING to pass so the entire pressure assembly was useless.Defective gauge, defective valve in the hose and the wrong size adapter causing oil to leak all over the engine compartment...and after all that, I still don't have a pressure reading on my new engine.AVOID.AT.ALLCOSTS.P.S. Of course I purchased the gauge set over 30 days ago so I'm stuck with paying the cost of the gauge set, another gauge and fitting...that will all go in the garbage.

I bought this tester to check the oil pressure in my Chevy Tracker, and it worked great! I was initially concerned because the Tracker is based on the Suzuki, and online specifications gave me conflicting information about the thread and fitting sizes for the oil pressure gauge. Fortunately, it turned out to be a standard size, and the kit included the correct adapter along with many others. The kit works great and is reasonably priced, especially considering the variety of adapters included. The only issue I had was user error—I accidentally hit the pressure release button while the engine was running, and oil sprayed on me. Other than that, I'm very happy with this kit!

My only complaint is the case isn’t tight on the fittings. Other than that it works and is a good price point.

I ordered this tool specifically to get the adapter set which should cover all applications. The adapter for a specific BMW comes with an installed o-ring seal and was easily installed with the quick disconnect on the hose allowing a capture of oil pressure readings over a range of operating conditions. This is far more convenient than trying to thread a hose fitting into a limited access port on the engine and it includes a 90* adapter to avoid kinking the line in limited spaces. Starting the engine from cold, I started collecting data every 3 minutes as the engine temperature rose and a couple of throttle changes returned some questionable readings. Although the pressure would increase as RPM increased, it would not return after idle speed was reestablished. At this point, I was almost ready to return the product and give in a negative rating, but decided to investigate. I wondered why the manufacturer would add a relief valve to the product and found that pressing the valve would return the gauge to zero and allow capture of the correct reading while making a messy oil spill. Taking it apart, I found a Shrader valve is installed in the brass disconnect fitting. This would be a necessary feature on a compression gauge, but not on a pressure gauge intended for engine or transmission pressure readings. After removal of this small part, the gauge set worked perfectly and earned the 5 stars. My conclusion is that the vendor probably also sells a compression gauge set and uses the same hose assembly for both gauge sets. With the modification this is a must have tool if low oil pressure is suspected or to just verify correct reading on a dash instrument.
