Correct installation of the OiiBO UVB bird cage light
Minimum distance from lamp to bird is 6”. Bird lamps should always be placed directly over the bird’s cage and never fitted to the side, at eye level or at an angle, to be certain that your bird is receiving optimum exposure.

Had been planning on getting a green cheek for awhile and the day before I noticed I forgot a light! I searched all the pet stores in my area and they don't sell them either. It arrived shortly after we got home with the bird. It works as it should. It's kinda big but good value for money. It also hasn't got hot to the touch either. My guy seems to enjoy it.

I was expecting better results with this bird cage light fixture, but it didn’t live up to its claims. The lamp itself is very cheaply made and doesn’t feel like it will last long. The UVB and UVA bulbs are a nice touch, but they don’t seem to provide as much benefit as expected, and my bird didn’t seem to react to the light. The fixture isn’t as adjustable as I would like, and it’s difficult to position the light in a way that’s effective for my bird. Installation was more complicated than it should have been, with parts that didn’t fit together properly. Overall, this fixture didn’t provide the quality or performance I was hoping for, and I would recommend looking for other options for your bird’s lighting needs.

My conure parrot loves this light, the only issue I have with it is that it is not universal to all cages, I have to lay it across the top of the cage. My cage has a tray and play area at the top, so that has to be removed, there is no way to use the piece that screws to the cage and make it stationary. But overall my bird is absolutely happy since adding this light, definitely has a better behavior, if you have a conure, you know what I'm talking about.

Once I figured out how to put the grill cover on it was easy to use. Sunny the cockatiel loves the light. Sits quietly and preens.

Setup was a breeze. Seems like a quality product. I have concerns about durability at the moment. Will try to remember to come back in 30 days and let you know if the bulb lasted. Edit: bulb still good after 60 days.

I really like the fixture and for the very few days the bulb actually worked it was nice and my bird loved it. Today I noticed his light was off and since he likes talking to Google I figured he might have turned it off on accident. He's an African Grey so this is something that happens frequently. But no, that's not the case. The damn junk ass crap bulb that other are complaining about took the typical crap. So now I have to order a new bulb which is an additional $20. This is the crap that really pisses me off. I mean Oiibo makes a nice light then puts in a junk bulb. Why? So, buyer beware! If you purchase this light you might as well order a replacement bulb at the same time because I guarantee it won't last very long.

I’ll edit this in about a month to update my review BUT after 24 hours I can say I love it! Our recently adopted baby parakeets, Jack & Sally, were playful but were staying in the mid to bottom levels of their cage. I set this sucker up and turned it on and they were in full play mode within 5 minutes! Climbed up their cage to check it out, went on their swings at the top of the cage, groomed each other, starting talking etc it was absolutely adorable! They’re by a window but don’t get direct sun as I’m too afraid they’ll get too much. I set this up super easy and pointed it to one half of their cage so they can choose to not be under the light. Quality is great so far, fit on the outside of their cage perfectly and was cheaper than petco for sure. At petco just the bulb is $60. It does put off a little heat but not much and they didn’t mind at all. Some UVB put off a lot of heat to where the lamp is hot to the touch but this one is just warm.

I bought this on October 13 and set it up on October 15 and here we are October 25 and it is not working. When I left for work this morning, I turned on the ultraviolet light from my bird got home and it’s off not sure what time it stopped working. Not sure how long the bulb was supposed to last my impression was a few months. So now I have to order another bulb and hopefully that’s the only issue. The big concern is is if I have to buy a bulb every 10 days.
