We ordered this Yatointo Off Road Recovery Kit in anticipation of having to retrieve a machine that is buried in a garage. Anyone shopping for this type of gear already knows the attributes of why you need a snatch block and tree saver. In our case, we will be pulling at right angles to the winch to extract an old tractor. Thankfully there is a telephone pole in line with the machine. We still need to make arrangements to extract, so haven't yet performed to recovery. Regardless, the principals are the same. Use the pulley to change direction and, in some cases, increase pull. The tree saver strap can also be used as a short recovery strap if you need a little more reach on a straight pull. The set is very well made of thick plate steel and a free wheeling center pulley wheel with a deep groove that should accept more common wire or synthetic winch cables. There are 2 "soft" shackles included that take the place of a standard metal c-clamp shackle. These are new to us, so expect to test them on this upcoming pull. In theory, it makes sense, we just aren't sure how well they will wear in the crook of the shackle if used repeatedly. The snatch block features a zerk fitting for lubricating, a nice feature. The bright orange paint helps locate the tool in muddy or leaf litter covered recoveries. We are impressed with the weight and built of this set and look forward to several successful winching sessions.
