This is a drum with bearings in it. The sound is interesting, but not as musical or relaxing as you might want. It has a bit of ringing from the plastic drumhead that makes it sound odd. Kids will enjoy exploring the many different sounds you can get from this drum, but I would classify this as more of a toy than a musical instrument. YMMV.

Passed along as a toy for the kids. I told a sound practitioner friend of mine about this and he warned that the plastic may not be conducive to the sound I’m hoping for. He was correct. The sound of the first few beads and the last few beads rolling across the plastic sound like exactly what you’d expect from beads rolling across flimsy plastic. The middle sound when the bulk of the beads are moving together is decent but the beginning and ending sounds aren’t very pleasant.
