Oatey Great White Pipe Joint Compound with PTFE is a white colored, non-separating thread sealant compound designed to seal threaded connections against leakage due to internal pressure. This compound permits a tighter assembly with lower torque, secure permanent sealing of all threaded connections and allows for easy disassembly without stripping or damaging threads.

its kinda messy when i use it. like roofing tar, or painting, i manage to get it all over me. thats just me though. it cleans off easy enough, just rub it off. i cant tell you about washing a few clothes yet, but suspect, that will be easy as well.. i will see if it comes, with a smaller brush..

During my time overseas it’s difficult to match Euro vs. U.S. thread sizes…..had a go with Teflon tape, which normally prevents leaks….not this time. This pipe joining compound did the trick and put a smile on my face.

Works better than the Teflon tape especially when using with plastic parts connecting to metal parts.? The tape can be too much at times and cause the threads not to fit properly, and leak.?

This product is messy. It did not work for me on water pipe threads. I applied it twice and it leaked. One valve held for some time and after a while started to leak as well.
