These screws really do work (with the original KIT that they associate with). HOWEVER, there are some important caveats:1). The screws do not always "snap" at the scoring, as they are supposed to. I would say about 1 in 3 screws does not snap off, and since that's a pivotal part of the product's function and purpose, it fails miserably with ~33% error rate.2). When the screws don't snap as intended, the user is forced to unscrew the screw, take it out of the floor and out through the "floor alignment tool", and then manually screw it back into the floor about to the point where the screw scoring should have snapped. THEN, the user is forced to "break" the screw at the scoring, essentially by either hammering it sideways to snap it off, or any other similar method, which can greatly damage the floor if not done very carefully and precisely (which is difficult to do... with a HAMMER!).3). Most of the time, it is a better idea to NOT drill the "pilot hole" that the instructions suggest one should drill, before screwing in the screw. I've tried using the product by drilling the pilot hole as instructed, and found the failure rate of the screws snapping off to greatly increase, AND, when drilling the pilot hole, the screws do not stop the squeaking in the floor as well as they do WITHOUT the pilot hole. BE AWARE that when NOT drilling the pilot hole, the user will need to screw the screws into the floor more slowly so as not to break, splinter, or crack the wood floor.

These work well for securing the floorboards to the joists. The problem I have is finding the joists even using the provided drill (joist finder). It looks easy in the videos I've watched but in practice it's not obvious when I've hit a joist. Once you find the joist these screws and the jig that sets the depth of the screw work well.

These are very effective for getting rid of those pesky squeaks. Love that you can get just the screws once you have bought the kit. Easy to use. Be prepared to use a lot of them since the squeaks tend to move around...we used over 50. Cant see or feel them once they are in, the tops break off. We tapped gently sideways with a hammer. One less daily annoyance. Heaven help anyone who pulls up the carpet later on though but i will be long gone.

Great product overall, very easy to hide the drill holes once you snap the top.

The Squeak No More system and screws are the best product on the market for quieting squeaky floors, bar non. To use these screws, you’ll need their starter kit with the proper tools needed to drive the screws into the sub flooring and floor joists. I already had the kit, so these extra screws were bought to fix our noisy stairs to the second floor. I used an impact driver and it drove these screws down tight. They have a wax coating, so they won’t snag any carpeting while driving them. I’ve also driven them at an earlier date through vinyl easily, barely seeing the hole left behind. Don’t buy any off name brand, these are the best out there and WORK! Just follow their instructions and you’ll be very happy.

I bought these Squeak No More screws, to continue trying to silence my noisy chipboard flooring, on my top landing, having previously bought the jig, with 50 screws. They have helped reduce the squeaks, but some still remain.Being 71, I need to visit my bathroom, during the night, and because it is otherwise quiet, the squeaks sound very loud. This system is no quick fix, and you obviously need to apply them to the adjacent areas, to improve the cure. Now that I have an extra 150 screws, I can try them on my adjacent carpeted floors, in the hope that I can stop having to tiptoe around, at night.Top Tip: Try to put the screws in at as much of an angle, as the jig will allow, which won’t be much, but I found this improved their effectiveness.I will try to post another review, when I have either succeeded, or failed; whichever is the case.

A brilliant product to use and very, very easy.We had to have our new (to us) static caravan moved from one part of a site to another and sometimes things don't go to plan when you have a static uplifted!!It was put on to its new pitch and looked lovely but as soon as we went in the floor started creaking and grinding as the joists sometimes do when any caravan is moved! The site owner was kind enough to say that he would do it but it would take a little time so we decided to look around for something that would help us do it safely and quickly ourselves and these are what we found,O'BERRY ENTERPRISES 3251 Squeak Replacement Screws. It took my husband and myself less than two days to mark out the floor inside the caravan with chalk, this is done on the actual carpet, then my husband got under the caravan and together we were able to work out where the joists were.I then used a re-chargeable drill to drill in first screw just to make sure the chalk marks were in the right position before screwing them down through the carpet (yes you read it right) and you will know you hit the joist by the noise the drill makes (just like a hammer drill). As soon as you hit and go into the joist with the screw all that's left to do is use the small plastic tool to snap off the head of the screw itself with just a slight twist and ,believe it or not,you have no marks or anything on or coming through the carpet at all, just carry on doing that.So it took us not long at all,one inside one outside,a nice sunny day and (now) an absolutely lovely, quiet floor.Don't hesitate, they work and we recommend them to anyone (even our site owner).

These screws work reasonably well for silencing squeaky floors. I used them specifically through carpet to repair plywood flooring over joists on a second floor. While this method definitely has its drawbacks, I believe that it's the best option available aside from rolling back carpet. Some important facts to be aware of:- For light-colored carpet, the joist finder (long screw that you attach to your drill) may leave dark marks on the carpet. These were easily cleaned with carpet cleaner but were nevertheless unexpected.- The joist finder lasts for only 100-150 tests. The kit includes two joist finders so if you're working with a large area, purchase two kits.- The joist finder gets extremely hot and will cause burns if not handled properly.- If possible, use an electronic Deep Scan stud finder rather than the joist finder. It'll save you lots of extra work.- 100 screws will fix 4-5 squeak spots on your floor. Purchase more screws than you think you'll need.- Plan on spending 30-45 minutes per squeak. Most of your time will be spent on searching for joints and figuring out how to patter the screws. Some carpet cleaning may be required for lighter-colored carpet.- Some of the screws may not sink deep enough and will stick up through the carpet. Make sure to sink the screws heads to the maximum allowable by the tool/template.- If you have berber carpet, be prepared for some damage.Overall, this is a solid product that does what's expected.
