I deal with a lot of windows images on m.2 drives and didn't want to wear out the m.2 slot on my older motherboard by removing and plugging them in all the time. This extension was just what I needed. Now I'm wearing out a The male and female plugs fit well, and performance seems excellent. I have not noticed any speed differences with the adapter installed. I don't have a machine with a PCIE 5.0 m.2, but I was able to test with PCIE 4.0. The adapter worked just as well as with PCIE 3.0.This is definitely a bit of a niche product, but if you need it, you need it. For the price and ease of use, you cannot go wrong with this adapter.

I wasn’t paying attention to anything but price when I ordered an upgrade NVME drive, and it came in as one of the shorter form factors. Unfortunately, it was to upgrade a 2014 Mac Mini which only has mounting provisions for a full size module. This adapter saved the day - I mounted the short card to the adapter, and put the adapter into the full-size slot. Solid mounting, no performance issues.

This is handy for when you accidentally have the wrong key on an M.2 stick and need to backtrack to the other key. The slot fits, and though I honestly don't have a drive to benchmark it or anything with, it works and I have no issues. The only thing is the "mousebites" as they're called, or places to break the PCB to make it shorter are definitely able to be accidentally broken as it won't take a ton of force, so beware of that. Otherwise it's great, handy to have.

Simple device that lets you use an NVME drive in a PC that doesn't have the right size mounting holes for it. No unnecessary complication to this - it's no bigger than needed and includes just what you need. No instructions, but if you're considering this then you shouldn't really need any.Does exactly what it's supposed to, no fuss.

This SSD adapter come in a anti-static mylar bag with just the mounting screw and stand off. No instructions included, but you don't really need any. If you're buying this adapter, you likely know what it's for, and you have expertise in computer building. I used it to adapt my 2230 SSD to a 2280 (or break off the PCB to fit the size you need) to fit in my desktop. Since it's a simple pin pass through, there are no electronics on the board except for the traces. The thickness was even low enough that I was able to use an SSD heatsink with this setup. Overall better than most of the lower quality options.

Minus one star for a stand off and screw that's too thin/narrow to to be usable. You can mitigate this is you have a separate computer screw assortment set. Otherwise product is good.
