10/10 stars!!! The handle is not as stiff as my Rigid brand fiberglass, but much stronger than a wood handle, of any brand. There is noticeable flex, like with a wood handled tool, but other than that, it is perfect. This item is holding up nicely, after 1 month of use!It is long, about 61" in total! I am a tall, big guy, so i need that length. The blade is 14" long, 6" wide and narrows to 4.5" wide at the end of the tool. It is Super light weight, which I think the other reviewers said. That is why you get that flex, because i think the designers really must have been trying to lighten the tool as much as possible. My first spade shovel feels so much heavier, and these are usually kind of awkward in general use, but not this one. But on the other hand my foot has slipped off (big feet) when pressing down on a wet day. The "toe cleat" area is average to small. Since the blade is smaller in length, you don't get as deep, before you can no longer press with your foot, because the ground is in your way.All in all, a great tool, that I plan to make a spot for in my arsenal. Great for gardening or sprinkler repair, you can really get 8" to 12" down very fast.

This is a GREAT shovel. I am not a physicist, but its thinness and length allows any (read, female) user to zone in on exactly what spot needs good depth. No matter what width you need, this shovel is the one with which you need to begin. It has a fiberglass handle (s-t-u-r-d-y) that is firmly attached to the blade and all this adds up to a much more back friendly experience. Could not recommend it more highly.

Bought this specifically to dig seedlings out of the ground without having to bend and/or be on my knees for hours. It was a little wide for the job so I fixed that by trimming about one inch off of each side with a heavy grinder. Now it is perfect for my intended use, and my back is very thankful!This is a solid well built product, highly recommended.

I love this shovel! (I call them all shovels, sorry.) Call it a drain spade or trenching shovel but I use it for gardening. My family thought I was nuts to order a spade through the mail but it is a fantastic tool. The metal spade part is sharp. The narrow blade allows me to be precise in digging to place new flowers among existing flowers in my beds. The composite handle is comfortable. The long handle length is great because I am tall and I don't have to bend way over to dig with this. The BEST part is that the long handle exerts a HUGE amount of leverage on the spade, allowing me to pop small rocks out of our lousy soil ! The tool seems to be extremely well made. Five stars for sure !!!
