This 1.5lb(24oz.) was used to drive out a cv axle from the hub and separate 2 balljoints and a tie rod end. Took care of business easily without damaging anything. Now keep in mind that brass is much softer than cast iron, therefore expect the head to take a beating when striking harder surfaces. With that being said, the damage to the head is minimal and I expect to get years of use out of it.

Excellent hammer. I swing, it pounds. What more could you want.Warning: If you are working in an area where there are metal slivers there is a possibility that they can become embedded in the rubber handle and then into your hand. Not fun in any way. Just a word of caution. Ask me how I know.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a brass hammer for work and went to hardware and home improvement stores all over northwest Alabama and northeast Mississippi trying to find one with no luck. Great hammer. Very solidly constructed. Useful for situations where a deadblow is not hard enough but a steel hammer may damage the object being struck. I use this for dimpling aluminum sheets in preparation for flush mount rivets. Note that this is a "standard" size hammer (i.e., the handle is 12-inches long).

This is a nice 1.5 pound brass hammer. It looks well made. The handle looks strong and well attached to the head. I used it to separate suspension joints. A brass hammer is perfect when a steel hammer might damage a steel part and a rubber hammer is not hard enough. Ignore comments about its “apparent size.” The head of this hammer is a 1.5 pound piece of solid brass. Hammers are not measured by volume.
