Some belts when worked hard obviously develop lots of heat which causes the seam to give way and break. Norton hangs in there under heavy use. That said woodworkers, listen to the “voice” we all have and let your sander cool off for a bit so both the tool, and belt survive. This is a solid product..

I use these belts primarily for sharpening tasks, flattening plane bottoms, spoke shave bottoms, and rough shapening carving tools. They work very well for this.

Actually I try to buy the purple 3M belts when I can, but Norton is certainly top quality and is just a slight notch below the purple belts. I have a floor sander and Norton is all I will use on it, you certainly will not be disappointed.
