I live these gel packs. Just returned from a 3 day camping trip, and the packs were still partially frozen. Great value and perform well. Definitely recommend.

I bought these ice packs for my son's lunch box. They do a very good job at keeping his food cold until he eats it at lunch time. As a matter of fact they are still slightly Frozen when he brings his lunch box home from school after about 8 hours. But I find these packs to be very thick and heavy for lunch box.

This is not my first purchase of Nordic ice. It is the first that didn't have the soft flocking to it. This set is strictly smooth cover. Not a negative for my purposes. In face if you choose to use these in coolers or places it could get wet then this pack would be great and easily dried off. These work just like my other sets. Freeze hard. Stay frozen for hours depending on usage. You can freeze them over various forms. I have put them over bottle to get a u type shape to fit cans or arm better.I use my packs to help me get through the hot months. Like some folks use hot water bottles during winter, i use these to stay cooler. Also I live with vertigo seizures and no longer have the health ins I need to see my specialist or get my meds. So I use these packs, because they stay frozen/cold for long periods to help me combat my seizures. Its not a cure but a help.On the negative... When the package arrived and I opened it there was an odor. It smelled of patchouli. Very very odd. Never had an aroma from the other design that has the slight flocking. I thought it would go away over time. I have had these since around June 10th. The aroma has dissipated but not completely gone. Since I wrap mine up in old hand towels when in use it doesn't normally bother me. Yet, there are times when the slight odor hits me. Not all together unpleasant but could be enough to trigger migraine. So, I will delegate these to food services: coolers, cold shopping bags, lunches, etc. Will get another set later on with flocking.Just a small warning. Try not to drop these on hard surfaces while they are completely frozen. The covering is strong when its frozen. Drop and the cover can tear just a pin hole size and then as it thaws out will leak some gel through that pin hole with just little pressure. Duct tape patch works well.
