Ham It Up Operation:
- Connect your antenna to the RF input
- Connect your SDR to the IF output
- Ensure your toggle switch is in the enable position
- Plug your USB power source into the USB-B USB jack
- Fire up your favorite SDR software. Tune to 125MHz + (+/- the tuning offset from the tuning procedure) + your desired frequency and enjoy!

I got this kit with the Ham it up upconverter for HF shortwave / ham listening. It has replaced my Sony ICF SW 7600 that simply wore out after years of use. I am very impressed with the abilities of software defined radio. The waterfall display on SDR is amazing and the DSP options are numerous and effective. It has changed the hobby for me.The included selection of adapters covers most of the likely HF antenna connectors needed. I used the supplied antennas, they work but I quickly upgraded to an outdoor antenna.I use the kit with SDR# software and an outdoor 11M dipole antenna. The NESDR is sensitive and about equal to the Sony (on battery) which is surprising with all the RF interference generated by the PC and switching power supply. Receive is not as sensitive as dedicated ham radio receivers but plenty adequate for exploring the HF spectrum and FAR beyond.SDR radio has a learning curve. Once you get it running there are all kinds of settings to experiment with and time needs to be spent to get the most out of it. I find that to be half of the fun.
