This foot valve appears to be exactly the same as what the big box store has but this one is about half the price. I suspect that it's made by the same manufacturer. My previous valve was in good condition but had one failure point being the nylon nut securing the valve spring, which was not made from stainless steel. I suspect this valve is the same but if it last 8 years like the previous one I will be very happy.

Seems substantial. The end screw that held the valve in place was loose and required tightening. But after two uses and leavening the pump off over night and the hose and check valve in the water, the pump lost prime because the supply hose was empty. Apparently the check value is not holding back the water in the supply hose over night. Primed the supply hose and the pump caught prime.

Used this to replace/upgrade the valve on my pond pump. The hose I bought for the pump had a plastic valve on the end, but it only lasted a year and the spring inside rusted out.
