Product Description

Succeeding the award-winning NF-A14 and building on the technological innovations of the ground-breaking NF-A12x25, the NF-A14x25 G2 is Noctua’s next-generation square-frame 140mm flagship model: Made from Sterrox LCP, its highly optimised Progressive-Bend impeller with winglets, Flow Acceleration Channels and Centrifugal Turbulator hub combined with a tip-clearance of only 0.7mm allow the NF-A14x25 G2 to further improve its predecessor’s renowned quiet cooling performance. Like the NF-A14 and NF-A12x25, it is a true all-rounder that yields superb results in all types of usage, regardless of whether it’s in low-impedance, airflow-oriented applications such as case cooling, or high-impedance, static pressure demanding scenarios such as on heatsinks and water cooling radiators. For application-specific optimisation, the NF-A14x25 G2 comes with an NA-AVG2-LR anti-vibration gasket pre-installed to create a tighter seal on radiators. Additionally, its AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame can be combined with the optional NA-IS1-14 inlet spacer, which can help to achieve superior suction acoustics and flow rates in challenging intake configurations. The 4-pin PWM version supports fully automatic speed control via PWM fan headers and comes with a Low-Noise Adaptor to reduce the maximum speed from 1500 to 1250rpm. Its ultra-low-loss etaPERF motor with Smooth Commutation Drive 2 technology doesn’t only provide unprecedented energy efficiency and running smoothness, but thanks to the new SupraTorque feature, it can also leverage extra torque headroom to keep the fan at its desired speed when working against back pressure, thereby ensuring even better performance on heatsinks and radiators. Topped off with Noctua’s reference-class SSO2 bearing and a rich bundle of accessories, the NF-A14x25 G2 is a premium-quality product through and through. Its superior performance, comprehensive feature set, cutting-edge construction and state-of-the-art materials set a new standard within Noctua’s portfolio and make it an elite choice for the most discerning demands.

NF-A14x25r G2

Progressive-Bend impeller

The NF-A14x25 G2 features a unique Progressive-Bend impeller with Flow Acceleration Channels and winglets. Its nine blades are swept backwards close to the hub and progressively bent forward further out. Working in tandem with the Centrifugal Turbulator hub, this design not only helps to push more air towards the outer blade areas where efficiency is higher but also assures maximum lift and near uniform loading across the entire blade span.

Centrifugal Turbulator hub

Centrifugal Turbulator hub

Acting as a turbulator, the new Centrifugal Turbulator hub design improves flow attachment in the hub region. At the same time, it’s centrifugal driving motion pushes air outwards from the hub area where efficiency is low due to the slow rotational speed towards the outer, high-efficiency zones of the blades, thereby increasing overall efficiency by optimising fluid distribution across the impeller area.

SSO2

SSO2 Bearing

The NF-A14x25 G2 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.

NF-A14x25 G2

Ultra-tight tip clearance

The NF-A14x25 G2 has a record tight tip clearance (distance between the blade tips and the inside of the frame) of only 0.7mm. This highly ambitious design sets a new benchmark for 140mm fans and helps the NF-A14x25 G2 to work more efficiently against back pressure, such as on heatsinks or radiators, by reducing leak flows through the gap between impeller and frame.

I like the performance of these fans. I am after mostly quiet but occasional power. The amount of research & development that went into these fans is impressive. I used them to replace my NF-A14s when one of them died (within the six year warranty). I have the same level of system noise (aka none with headphones on) and my coolant temperature is lower; which with modern CPUs and GPUs means more performance. I have my fans set to ramp up @36'c water temperature (summer time) and have 10'c to go, at virtual silence. I bought a spacer: Noctua NA-IS1-14 Sx2; and have used it on one of my 3 140mm radiator fans as space permitted. I've watched a youtube review which said that the fans can perform better with the spacer in this pull scenario with a radiator.Did I mention the six year warranty?

Fan quality is excellent, easy to install. So quiet I can’t even tell they are spinning and boy they move so much air I was baffled. 10/10 would recommend.

If your application calls for either 120mm or 140mm, get a 140mm fan - a "big fan slow" moves as much air as as a "small fan fast" at a lower volume. Noctua takes that up to 11.These are so quiet that I thought at first I forgot to plug them in. They are effectively silent up to 60%, at which point they become barely audible - and a sort of low, pleasing "hum" rather then a shrill "whir".They have no problem moving large volumes of air. The included accessories are top-notch: the Y-cable, fan extension, radiator gasket, anti-noise pulls, etc. are all top-tier and included in the box. You'll have to pry these fans away from me!Edit: my PSU fan was getting a little noisy - Noctua to the rescue! So much quieter, for only a small amount of effort.

I was initially on the fence with getting new fans, but after my new case stock fans got too annoying running at full speed with inconsistent temps, i figured it’s probably time to get something better. Putting these in was easy, as with any fan. Out of the box, these fans feel quality. Sturdy construction, strong feeling blades, and the hub spins without any obstructions or issues. Plugging them in, i had to get a fan hub, as i didn’t have any available fan headers to support all of them. What’s really confident about these fans is that they come with a load of accessories. Includes a cable extender, and FAN SPLITTER (wild to include in the box, but very appreciated) and a low speed or noise converter. I haven’t used them, besides the cable extender, but it’s nice for options and provides extra flexibility with your build. Also includes a bunch of rubber dampeners and figments, including a gasket for mounting (SUPER NICE!!!!!). Swapping rubber parts was a breeze, and didn’t rip or tear. Construction is DEFINITELY QUALITY, without a doubt. Now, for the intended purpose, cooling and performance. I have a water cool loop, which always has had inconsistent temps. I plan on getting more 120mm fans for my radiator, but that’s for the future. However, these fans I have set to intaking from my fan slots on the bottom of the case. After getting these bad boys plugged in and configured, I have noticed an overall temp decrease of ≈3-5°C under load, normally maxing at 53-57°C. Idling, my temps have stayed at a a brisk, steady 33-35°C. These things definitely shove a lot of air into the case, and they hardly make ANY NOISE at 70% power. Once they ramp up beyond that, it’ll obviously make an audible noise, but it’s less of a whining noise, and more of a subtle hum. To some, that may be distracting, but I would much rather take this than a loud high pitch whir. These fans are an amazing upgrade, and I would HIGHLY recommend them. I slept on Noctua fans for a long time, but I am more than grateful that I chose to upgrade them. Now for the rest of my system lol.

These fans are great. The fans move a lot of air while being very quiet. They only start to become noticeable around 1100-1200 rpm and even then its not any louder than the AC in my computer room. If price is no object and you want the top of the line in quiet airflow performance I highly recommend these fans.

These are probably the highest quality and most efficient fans you can buy. They move a ton of air under load, and when not unde load they're basically silent.

When this is at low/medium RPM, it is completely silent. At the highest RPM it makes a higher pitch whine compared to the previous model. Whether I consider this one better than the previous generation depends on the speed to run it at. If I was running this at low speed it would be the best 140mm fan. If I wanted to run it at its max speed, I would buy the previous generation instead for a little bit more pleasant lower pitch tone. Both are relatively quiet even at their highest speed, so this comparison is for those who are really picky about acoustics.
