It has Noctua's build quality, but the cable itself is really bulky. I was hoping for something more flexible to arrange inside a case

I recently purchased this product. I found it to be a great product. It is made sturdy and works well. It is easy to use and looks great. The price was fair and the item was as described in the ad.

I created a system to provide cooling for an AV cabinet in a closet. Components include Aventage, Emotiva and Oppo. The cooling equipment used includes:1. Noctua Fans (3) (model# NF-S12A PWM)2. Noctua Fan controller (model# NA-FC1)3. Noctua Extension cables (model# NA-SEC1)4. Cablemod's molex to SATA cable (model# CM-CAB-MSAP 45KK-R)5. Coolerguys AC power adaptor (110V AC to DC 12V Power Supply with 4 pin Molex)The fans are laid flat on top of the receiver and amplifier pulling air up through the units. Of course, the anti-vibration corner pieces protect the AV equipment and prevent the fans from moving around. There is approximately 4" between the top of each AV component and the shelf above. This seems to allow sufficient air circulation. All Noctua components were packaged nicely and functioned perfectly out of the box. Connections are solid. Using the fans full speed, they are very quiet and are effective in keeping the components at less than 82F degrees. The Noctua Fan Controller is tiny -- about the size of a man's thumb. When setting up the system, I reached out to Noctua for some technical assistance. They were prompt and provided excellent guidance on connecting the power supply to the speed control (Cablemod's connector). The Cablemod's cable has solid connections and functions well. The only thing that would be nice is an outer sheath to keep all four wires together for a cleaner appearance. The Coolerguys AC power adaptor appears well made and functions well to power the three fans.Overall, the system has been running for about 1 month and I am quite satisfied with each of the components and would recommend them to anyone looking for an effective cooling system for an AV cabinet.

Excellent quality cables with nice sleeving. Each leg is 5 in (~13 cm) long, and one of the legs is missing the RPM pin so your motherboard isn't getting 2 RPM signals. These splitters will work with 4-pin PWM-controlled fans and with 3-pin voltage-controlled fans, but I wouldn't mix the two together on 1 splitter. The packaging is very nice and includes 2 of these y-splitters as well as a nice, thin, black foam sheet (4 in x 5.5 in / 10 cm x 14 cm) that can make a great cable shroud/cover down by your PSU.You can daisy-chain splitters together, but keep in mind the current/power limits of whatever header you will be using and the current/power draw of your fans (typical limits seem to be 1A/12W total on motherboard headers, but check your manual!). I have 4 NF-F12's daisy-chained together onto 1 chassis fan header on my Asus Z87 Sabertooth, and they work fine. Voltage/PWM control works the same as it does with 1 fan, but if using voltage control, keep in mind that the starting voltages of each individual fan may be slightly different, so at the lowest voltage setting, only 2 of my 4 fans will start. Bumping it up just 2% results in all fans starting and spinning.

Great quality splitters. Built solid and correct (missing third pin on one split so the secondary connected fan does not report speed to motherboard creating a conflict). Excellent, somewhat tacky sleeving. Strong connectors. Can be used with 3 pin connectors also if wondering. Noctua doesn't just make great fans; they also make fantastic accessories for them (or any brand really).FYI in case the product description / scope of delivery does not get updated (I just submitted an update after waiting several days for the seller to do it themselves), the box (and these do come in a nice, solid, protective cardboard box) only contains *2* Y-splitters, not 3 like I thought when ordering. Noctua's own page also validates this on their description as do other retailers. Note that the pdf technical spec. / infosheet that Noctua has does (currently anyway) say 3, but this is either a typo or once upon a time this was sold as a 3 pack. It is only a 2 pack, and the box even says two printed on top of it.Anyway, I recommend these if you want longevity and an excellent warranty (6 years) to go along with quality fans. Cheap fans? Well, buy what you wish. High end case fans? Get these as well as their extensions if needed.
