I have used a metal tape before, I think I prefer the fiberglass variation. I used it in a 70ft mast and it did not bind even though it was a long run. Very pleased

The clamshell case broke after a few pulls. It's not nearly thick enough to handle a hard pull. The cord itself it decently strong, but the rest of it is hot garbage. Get a Southwire or a Rackateers instead so it doesn't make an already hard day ten times worse (like today, yay Monday)

We fed it down 1” conduit with no problem but when it came to 2” conduit, it got stuck when it was fed in over 40’. The conduit we were feeding it though was practically straight. We believe it was curling up in the line.To improvise, we had to add another step; so we made a parachute on the end of a string and used the wet vac to suck the parachute with string down the 60’ pipe and then were able to connect the fish tape to the string and run the fish tape through. Then we were finally able to connect the wire we needed to pull through using the fish line. Phew!

I've owned a metal fish tape for years, but it wasn't long enough for my current job. So I bought this longer polyester tape and I couldn't be happier with it. I had three bends in a 70' run and it fished right through the first time, and it was strong enough to pull four 6 gauge wires back through the conduit. I read reviews that complained about the quality of the housing, but it is as substantial as the one on my Greenlee fish tape, which has lasted for years. (A note that came with the tape said the housing had been upgraded.)
