This gives a firm grip on the fish without hurting the fish so you can clean them in the water or hold it up for a picture. Great for kids to handle bigger fish to avoid injury. Haven’t tested on larger fish but held up well with a 65cm striped bass. Felt secure

I ordered this gripper as the plastic cheap one I was previously using was not cutting it. This year has been the year of the pike for me. The pike will twist and turn, when using the cheap grippers, the pike would shake themselves off. I saw this gripper was metal, had a rotating handle, and a scale built into the handle. I am very impressed with the quality of this gripper. It's solid and I tested it on a 10lb backpack, shaking it and twisting rather aggressively. It held without issue and the scale was accurate, used a Berkley digital scale to compare and it was accurate. The grip is rubberized and spins freely, which will certainly help take some of the force of big pike head shaking and twisting. The teeth and trigger are metal and appear very well constructed. The trigger to open the teeth is smooth and doesn't reguire too much force to open. The teeth lock together tightly and I was unable to spread them apart using my fingers. Fishing season is over for me, but I will update in the spring if there are any issues. But from what I see I don't anticipate any concerns. This tool will come in very handy as it will replace my net, cheap grippers, and digital scale. Less to carry.

The dislike is that it does not come with a wrist strap. But the rest looks great, and have not tried the scale for accuracy yet.

Bought these to use while catfishing and used them to handle 30lb+ fish with no issue. The scale seems accurate when comparing with another scale. The releasing mechanism works great.
