Q: HOW DOES NEXTSTAR WORK?

A: NextStar provides both fast-acting and long-lasting protection against fleas and ticks for up to 30 days. When applied directly to your pet’s skin, the topical liquid is stored in their hair follicles and dispersed throughout their body using the natural oils on their skin. Full nose-to-tail distribution can take 24-48 hours after the initial application. As fleas or ticks come into contact with the skin over the next 30 days, pests will be killed through contact, without having to bite your pet to die. Reapply monthly for year-round protection.

Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE NEXTSTAR TO BEGIN WORKING?

A: NextStar starts acting fast to protect your pet against fleas and ticks. For dogs, this topical formula will start working within 5 minutes on dogs and as for cats, NextStar will start working in 15 minutes. Both dog and cat solutions remain effective in preventing fleas and ticks for the next 30 days after application. Be mindful that full nose-to-tail protection can take up to 24-48 hours after the initial application.

If you have already noticed fleas on your pet, you may already have an infestation on your hands. If your pet is infested with fleas and ticks, while they roam around your home and yard spaces, they are dropping flea eggs wherever they sit, shake, and play. Q: MY APPLICATOR APPEARS EMPTY. WHAT DO I DO?

A: A single applicator contains the monthly dose for your pet’s weight. Each dosage is calibrated to the specific weight of your pet, so it is essential to squeeze the tube firmly to ensure the entire dose has been applied to the skin.

Q: I’VE APPLIED NEXTSTAR, BUT I STILL SEE FLEAS. IS THE PRODUCT NOT WORKING?

A: Fleas only spend 20% of their life on the host animal. Therefore, properly cleaning and treating your pet’s environment, including bedding, carpets, kennel, and yard, is absolutely necessary. Applying NEXTSTAR will kill adult fleas, flea eggs, and flea larvae on your pet but does not kill those hiding in your home spaces such as bedding, carpets, or your yard.

If you have continued to see fleas emerge even after applying NextStar, the fleas you are seeing are most likely not the fleas you initially saw on your pet. With NextStar, your pet is protected from fleas for 30 days, but fleas in your home and yard can continue to develop and hatch from their pre-adult stage and continue to spread throughout your pet’s environment. To properly eliminate fleas and ticks, follow the 3 steps outlined in the section on this page titled “What if I still see fleas on my pet?”

After doing research, I decided to buy this flea and tick prevention drop and it did not disappoint. The easy-to-use topical application made it a breeze to protect my fur baby. No prescription was needed which saved me a trip to the vet. The biggest win was the prevention of the flea lifecycle, ensuring long-term protection. And with protection starting in just 5 mins, it couldn't be better. Very satisfied!

Does not work on dogs with damaged skin. It coats your dogs skin using the oils naturally there. If your dog has been licking excessively or chewing, it will not spread to those areas, and you will still have fleas there. In fact, it will become worse because all the fleas will go to that area to get away from the flea treatment chemicals. worked great on my German Shepherd, who is only scratching a bit. Did not work at all on my dog who has chewed his bomb a bit. In fact, the problem became worse.

My dog took himself for a spin through the brushy, tick-filled backcountry and came back with several ticks on his face. Yikes! I was preparing to do delicate removals with plastic gloves and tweezers when I had the idea to cover his neck & face with this stuff.He’s a big boy (130lbs) so we needed 2 tubes to get his whole body. It took a few minutes for 2 of us to apply. After that each of the ticks shriveled up and fell off. It took a bit longer than the 5 minute claim. Prolly a few hours. Still better than digging through his incredibly thick fur to find them all & likely missing some. I’ll keep some of this on hand throughout tick season. No vet required, which is a bonus. We give all our dogs a shot once per year for heart worms but it doesn’t protect them from fleas & ticks.Luckily we only have ticks for about 4-5 months due to extremely dry summers. If you live somewhere humid it would be better to get a prescription for one of the oral preventatives for ticks, fleas & heart worms.

My feedback is really positive because this stuff is incredible. It offers 30-day protection which is very convenient. The fast-acting formula and the fact that it starts working in 5 minutes is amazing. Also, no prescription needed, so it's easy to get. And, it even prevents the flea lifecycle - a real all-rounder. I've never been more satisfied with a flea and tick solution!

This product does not keep fleas off my dog even for 30 days let alone any longer. Approximate length of coverage is 2 1/2 weeks. My poor little dog was so eaten up by fleas I had to reapply at 3 1/2 weeks.Returning to Frontline.
