Card arrived well packaged and in great condition. Installation was easy. I restarted my printer and the device initiated perfectly. I was printing in just a couple minutes.

I have an old HP 4700dn that I bought for $20 at a local university surplus sale. It has been a faithful workhorse for several years. I have it connected to my wireless router for shared printing. Unfortunately, a tree in my front yard took a major lightning strike a few weeks ago and the surge blew out the Formatter Board. After replacing the Formatter Board, I discovered that the lightning strike also took out the native NIC card. This is the only printer in our home, so it was critical to get it back up and running. When I found this print server on Amazon and researched it, it was clear that this was the quickest and most inexpensive way to get my printer back online. The print server arrived within a day and it took all of five minutes to install and get my faithful old LaserJet back on my network. This is the best and cheapest way to fix a native NIC card that no longer works in an older printer. My only criticism with this purchase is that the print server could have been packaged better. It came only in a thin plastic bubble bag and could have been easily damaged during delivery.

First one came with IP address set and worked out of the box thought I had locked out.... a week later it changed its address which was set to static.... called in and had a replacement in two days. This time I had to enter the IP address (which is easy) and it has been working great for two months now. I have spent more on after market LPT adapters over the years which never worked as good as this one. Less expensive and full functioning.

This board is a real bargain that can immediately turn your HP 4100 into an HP 4100n. Installed this in an older HP LaserJet 4100 to allow me to connect the printer to my router and allow for printing from any computer on my network. After installation of the card, connected it to the internet and performed a "cold boot" on the printer (see how on YouTube). Printed the HP LaserJet 4100 configuration pages to include the EIO 2 - Jet Direct page to obtain the IP address of the printer. You can set your own IP address if necessary (see YouTube for instructions). Manually Installed the printer on each computer on my network utilizing the IP address given on the EIO 2 - Jet Direct printout. Experienced issues with the PS Class print driver that was automatically downloaded by Win 10. Went to the HP website and downloaded the latest PCL 6 print driver for the LaserJet 4100. Installed printer again utilizing the HP PCL 6 installation file. Deleted the PS Class printer and made the PCL 6 printer the default printer on each computer on the network. My HP 4100 is now printing faster on client computers than when it was shared via a wired connection to one of the computers on my network. In addition, the computer to which it was previously wired no longer has to be running to share the printer.

Item was used vs new but seller (USA Printer Company) was very responsive.The item I received was used with configuration information in memory from the previous owner. That made setup difficult because I assumed it was at factory defaults. I emailed the seller on Sunday and got a call back on Monday. He apologized and offered to help me set it up. By then I had figured it out and the card was working in my printer and I did not want to exchange it for a new card. Seller offered me a partial refund for the product being used and for my trouble and I accepted that as reasonable compensation.I am pleased with the product performance and very pleased with the seller's customer support.

In meinem Drucker war Original der Jetdirect 615N eingebaut. Dieser hat einige Jahre toll funktioniert und fing dann an zu spinnen. Immer wieder gab es Netztwerkprobleme. Ich habe über mehrere Monate die Aufheizmethode mit einer Heißluftpistole eingesetzt. Dies hat zwar jedesmal funktioniert aber immer wieder nur für einige Wochen. Auch ein Neukauf eines 615N brachte keine Abhilfe (zumal es gar keine neuen zu kaufen gibt, d.h. nur aufgearbeiter 615N).Ein Laden Empfal mir daraufhin einen alten 610N, weil diese als sehr Zuverlässig gelten. Das tat ich und es funktioniert wirklich, auch über mehrere Monate keine Ausfälle. Aber dieser 610N hat andere Schwachstellen. Es verwendet eine Uralt-Java-Version, die von heutigen Browsern wegen bedrohlicher Sicherheitlücken nicht mehr unterstützt und explizit geblockt wird. Eine Freischaltung ist nicht möglich. Damit kann man den Drucker nicht mehr Online administrieren. Außerdem wir der Drucker mit dem 610N nicht von den HP Smatphone Apps im Netztwerk gefunden, somit ist Drucken über Smartphones oder Tablets nicht möglich.Daher entschied ich mich für das Upgrade auf den 620N. Diesen PrintServer habe ich nun seit 2 Monaten im Einsatz. Bislang funktioniert dieser einwandfrei, kein einziger Aussetzer. Zudem kann ich den Drucker wieder Online Administrieren und wieder über mein iPhone und über iPad drucken.

Bought this a replacement for one of our HP 4100 series office printers. Very easy to install. Literally loosen the two screws, pull out the old one, insert the new one and tighten the screws. That's it.These printers just keeps chugging along. We have two of them in our office, (HP4100n and HP4100dtn with extra paper tray/duplex unit). We have had them for some 20 years. Seems the ethernet print server boards quit working and have to be replaced about every six years or so. The printers get minimal maintenance. I have performed the Roller Replacement Kit cleaning once on each printer.
