The New Wave Swim Buoy is a lightweight inflatable float used by swimmers and triathletes in the open water. The New Wave Swim Buoy is offered in FOUR bright colors – NEON GREEN, YELLOW, PINK and ORANGE – providing visibility for a swimmer around boats and other watercraft. The New Wave Swim Buoy is also offered in two size options, 15 Liter and 20 Liter. Our Swim Buoy comes in two incredible durable and hyper visible materials, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). The TPU material is UV resistant, puncture resistant, and the color will not fade after repeated exposure to chemicals and the sun's harmful rays. Attached to the waist with a nylon web belt, New Wave Swim Buoy is pulled behind the swimmer, and can also be used to float or rest. The New Wave Swim Buoy contains a compartment separate from the inflation chamber for storage of personal items (snacks, wallet, keys, spare goggles, cell phone, camera, etc.).

Visibility in Open Water
The brightly-colored Swim Buoy is a swimming safety float that exceptionally visible to boaters, jet skis, paddlers, and surfers. Fastened to your waist by a belt with a tether line, the New Wave Swim Buoy has a storage compartment that is separate from the Inflatable Air Chamber. What do our athletes put in the buoy? New Wave Swim Buoy is Brightly colored, lightweight, inflatable flotation device with a waist belt that visibly floats behind a swimmer in open bodies of water, making the swimmer more visible to lifeguards, boaters and other open water vehicles.

I finally had a chance to use the "New Wave Swim Buoy - Med (15 liter) PVC Fluo Green" that I bought, directly from New Wave Swim Bouo, a few weeks ago. AND I LOVE IT! It's great for swimming freestyle in open water with its super fluorescent color. Lifeguard, loved ones and ANYONE can see me from ashore regardless how far I'm out. It's a WONDERFUL added water safety device. I bought the kind where I can put items (keys, wallet, phone, etc) inside it too! It inflates and deflates in a snap! This Is The One - Great Swim Buoy
Since all the pools have been closed, my sister and I swim in this huge estuary several times per week. Other swimmers have found this spot, too, and many of them have swim buoys. We realized we needed visibility, too, for our safety and our fellow swimmers. I researched and New Wave got top ratings. We got the buoy with storage so our keys can come with us (no more hiding them on the beach). Like not wearing a buoy at all, just hyper-visible
My open-water swim (OWS) group strongly urges swimmers to use a tow float, and it's made the swims so much less worrisome. You can see and keep track of swimmers all across the lake. The swimmers with New Wave Swim Buoys are another level of visibility entirely. No one has complained of a puncture or other problems yet, and when we give new swimmers loaners, they're surprised by how little they notice them. I'd actually recommend the standard buoy over the bubble. Not that there's a single thing wrong with the bubble, but neither is noticeable while swimming, and it's not much extra money to have the dry-bag option. ~ Ashley Crocker
INSTRUCTION FOR USE - SWIM BUOY WITH DRYBAG
Open the main dry compartment to store any personal items.

Pack your items as far as possible, and make sure not to put any sharp objects in the main compartment.
Blow into the blue mouthpiece to inflate the air compartment. The Buoy is properly inflated when it feels firm and taut.

Tighten the cap to prevent air escaping. Before swimming, ensure there is no leakage by submerging the New Wave Swim Buoy.
Fold over the blue strip four (4) to five (5) times and attach the buckle.

Do NOT place your cell phone or electronics into the dry bag compartment without a waterproof case AND flotation “bobbers” (often used for boat keys) designed to keep your items afloat if accidentally dropped in the open water.
Put the belt around your waist and adjust so that it fits tightly and does not slide off hips.

When you begin to swim, ensure the New Wave Swim Buoy is in the back, so it may float behind you. The New Wave Swim Buoy belt is adjustable from 27" to 52" Inches.
Take a break on your Swim Buoy you get tired during your swim.

If you cramp and need to rest during your swim, you can float on the New Wave Swim Buoy.
To deflate, unscrew the cap and allow the air to escape from the buoy.

To clean, rinse with fresh water, air dry and store in a cool, dry place. For longevity clean after every use. Do NOT dry or store in direct sunlight.

This is only a fold down type closure (knew that), so not totally waterproof inside. Why can't they put a ziplock type seal on it? Otherwise it worked good.

Loved having these on our competition in hawaii! Carried an extra set of goggles and water bottle! My younger kids also used them when they snorkled. The waist didn't get small enough but we just tied a knot in it. My kids are great swimmers but I loved the extra safety. I could see my 7&8 year old from far away. If they got tired they could hang onto it but these also didn't drag you down at all! Best purchase ever!

The dry bag is the entire size. The inflation part is large!In the water, I was able to rest my hips on it and float (I'm about 120lbs) for short periods when I got tired. I got this for the dry bag and it holds my phone and a small, non rigid wallet.

My wife and kids are strong swimmers, but I’m not. I’m more of a wader. When they head out on cross lake swims it freaks me out - that they’ll drown, or get hit by a boat, or that Jadon Voorhees is going to show up. I bought a buoy for everyone. They’re highly visible, hold their air, and, from what they tell me, they don’t even notice it when they’re swimming.

After seeing these swim buoys on many triathletes and other open water swimmers the last couple of summers I've decided the time has come to get one for myself. I can attest to the fact that even a brightly coloured swim cap does not show up for a very good distance but these brightly coloured buoys can easily be seen 750m away at least. My fellow swimmers also tell me they do not in any way impede their training. Because it is winter, I cannot test my buoy in the open water but I did fill it with air (takes 2 seconds!) and it held perfectly for two days before I let it out. The material appears to be of very high quality compared to a couple of cheaper ones that I've seen. The cheaper ones might satisfy a more recreational use or someone just snorkelling close to land but wanting a marker above their head. I would be comfortable knowing that this buoy could also serve as a flotation device in case of cramping, dizziness or any sudden medical issue while swimming far from shore. Lots of people have the orange colour which works well but I think the pink ones may have been even more visible! Looking forward to June :)

Quick, convenient, and easily seen. Much better than the greens I've seen. The only way to go is orange, pink, or yellow.The tether is the perfect length, blows up quickly and holds air for extended periods of time, and holds all the necessary stuff!Great piece of mind and safety measure for those who swim in open water.

Great product. Bright, fits well and doesn't interfere with swimming so perfect for outdoor swimming. Not tried the dry bag component yet but added bonus having it there.

I just received this yesterday and used it for an open water swim today! Absolutely fabulous! I am a triathlete with swimming probably my weakest event. I love swimming but I can't say I'm totally comfortable in the water. In most open water swims, I would wear a wetsuit, even if it was 90 degrees out just for the buoyancy effect. Sooooo, I just used this item and must say I have never been more comfortable swimming just knowing it was there if I needed it. I did not feel it during my swim at all. It is beyond 5 stars. The dry pocket worked well too. I had my car chip key in it and it stayed dry thoughout the swim. I cannot say enough about this product. Nice job new wave.

I bought this buoy rather reluctantly, as my preference is to open-water swim without such encumbrances in deference to my incredibly slow (though I cover distances of 2 miles of better regularly) speed on water. I succumbed to peer pressure, fellow swimmers demanding I purchase this so they could see my bobbing body out on the billowing waves, and procured this from Amazon. Now I won't swim without it! It not only reassures my comrades who can see this thing from great distances, but it provides a means to carry things it I so wish, and I actually had the chance to experience its floatation role for the first time several days ago. My wife caught me about 3/4 into a mile swim on a local lake as she was paddle boarding, and I reacted by stopping the swim (forgetting that the New Wave Buoy was attached). I was immediately held in perfect buoyancy as I chatted with her. Really rather remarkable, and I'm obviously quite satisfied with this accessory.
