The Health Supermarket of Integral Yoga recommended this filter to me more than 10 years ago and I have been using it since then. i believe that it is by far the most EFFECTIVE AND INEXPENSIVE filter in THE MARKET.

I have been using the New Wave Enviro 10 Stage Water Filter for over 20 years. It doesn't just remove the smell of chlorine but removes the chlorine all together along with just about everything you don't want in your drinking water. I have the one that sits on my sink counter which takes up very little space. Although it can go under the sink it is much easier for me with a bad back to keep it on top when needing to replace the filter once a year or so. And with a bad back I got tired of lifting large containers of water & heavy water bottle packages - plus I wanted to minimize microplastics as much as possible. This water filter is budget friendly considering what I used to pay for water bottles & filling up my containers for drinking, cooking, and cleaning veggies/fruits.

I used this filter and cartridge in the kitchen on a daily basis for all drinking and cooking, and filled bottles of filtered water to use at the bathroom sink, also for face washing and teeth brushing. The incredible quality of the 10 stage filtered water was beyond expectation and it lasted well over a year - a year and a half, I believe - until a replacement was needed. That equates to far less than buying filtered water, wasting gas to shop, plastic containers, etc. The filter itself is very easy to attach to a standard faucet. If you live in a hardwater area, the faucet screen is easily removable to clean calcium deposits. I brought the filter along with my during several moves and has been one of the best purchases I ever made - truly a healthy life saver. Please be sure to soak it well as the instructions guide before using a new replacement for the first time so that it is most effective in filtering what you consume.

I purchased my base unit about a year and a half ago. The original filter finally gave out. I kind of wish I'd unscrewed the unit and looked inside, before connecting it to my sink. The filter is pretty neat! I definitely took the variety of filter media for granted (the cylinder is see through). Anyway, it was time to replace it, and I had some anxiety about making the right choice, not wanting to feel ripped off (like when you have to buy Brita replacements - the cost can add up). I price shopped for a while and ended up getting this on sale. It was a great deal! It was REALLY hard to unscrew the unit, to remove the old filter, but a friend helped out. I detached the hose and spigot, and drained the unit. He inserted a philips head screwdriver and gave it a good twist. Once separated, it took maybe 5 seconds to replace. It's like screwing a lid onto a coffee mug. The filter drops inside the canister, and that's it. The instructions recommend greasing the seals with petroleum jelly, but I don't buy Vaseline and they looked fine. So, I didn't bother. I think if the base unit has worked for you, the filter is worth replacing. I don't feel the need to upgrade. And my water tastes SO much better with a fresh filter!

This is my first replacement filter for my New Wave Filtration System. I've had this system for a year now and I figured it was time to replace it even though it's just me that uses it because my water SUCKS ... I have well water that has lime AND rust and often has sediment in it. My cat got a bladder stone before I started using one of the Pitcher filters ... after years of fiddling with them I decided to get a full on 10 stage filter and I don't regret it one bit.These filters really do take all the smells, sediments, and other undesirable stuff out of the water. Believe me, if it makes MY water palatable it really IS a good filter!Getting the housing undone was a little bit of a challenge. They suggest that you use vinegar and water soak to get it loose ... I used that, then got a small hammer and TAPPED around the area of the threads as well as downward on the bottom of the housing. I also have a strap to un-do an under-sink filter that we have in another area of the apartment and used that to help me get a grip on the housing so I could loosen the bottom and get the housing apart. Once it was undone it was simple to change the filter, though I did find that the inside of the housing needed a bit of a clean. They suggest putting Petroleum Jelly on the threads to make loosening the housing easier next time around.I am a reviewer but I bought this at full price. Whether I pay full price or receive an item for a discount, all opinions are mine alone and reflect my personal experience with the item.
