This pasta maker is actually a great idea for the kitchen. First and foremost, this is absolutely cord-free. You recharge it and you don't have to worry about having it near any outlet in the kitchen which is awesome. Given the fact that I only have one outlet in my kitchen, this made it so convenient for me.There are five different types of pasta molds but I could never get the smallest one to work for me. I'm not going to rate it poorly because of that, since I think it's probably user error on my part. I will say it did a great job with the larger noodles and I'm pretty happy with that since that's what I would normally eat if I bought boxed pasta anyway.I've never used anything like this so I have nothing to compare it to, but it works well for me. It's kind of on the slower side but I live alone so I'm not really worried about making massive amounts of pasta for my family since I don't have one.I do wish it came with more cooking instructions. Thankfully there is this wonderful place called YouTube University. I learned a lot by watching videos and that really helped me get the full benefit out of this pasta gun. I'm pretty happy with it and I feel like it makes preparing pasta so much easier than it typically would be.

I already own a small Phillips countertop pasta maker. The Phillips pasta maker works perfectly, but I figured if I want to make small batches of pasta, I’ll be able to use this handheld past maker. Sometimes I don’t make pasta when I am in the mood, as I don’t want to clean multiple pieces for a single meal. So, I reserve my countertop pasta for larger batches, and then dry the leftovers. I thought this pasta maker may work for a single meal fresh pasta, and after the meal, I’ll have a simple time cleaning this pasta maker. After using this pasta maker, I am sad to say that this little handheld tool will not make it into my kitchen equipment, although this pasta maker is easy to clean. On my first attempt using this pasta maker, I made a standard pliable dough which held its own shape. This machine could create pasta, which I dropped directly into a boiling pot of water. The instructions say not to exceed two rounds, as the machine can overheat. Two rounds is barely enough for two full servings of pasta. My dough was soft, and I did not feel the machine heating, so I did a 3rd round in order to finish the prepared dough. Still, if one wants to listen to the instructions and only use this pasta maker for only two consecutive rounds, one can make less than two full-size adults servings of pasta. For my second round, I made the dough much drier. I wanted to let the pasta sit a bit before cooking. Letting the pasta rest for 15 minutes before cooking helps the pasta bind and hold its shape better after cooking. In order to let the pasta rest I need to make a less sticky dough, so when the pasta exits the pasta maker the strands don’t stick back together. My countertop pasta maker uses crumbly dough, with water by weight ratio of around 37%. This crumbly dough forms into unsticky pasta after pressing through the little holes. I tried using low water crumbly dough in this handheld pasta maker, and this pasta maker did not have enough power to push the dough through. I then transferred that same dough to my countertop pasta maker, which produce perfect pasta that did not stick to each other. Overall, this pasta maker is not a suitable tool, as the pasta it can produce will stick to each other if one doesn’t put the pasta straight into boiling water. I thought I will have an easier cleanup time by using this small handheld pasta maker. But shorter clean up time doesn’t justify inferior pasta. I’m better off using the countertop unit and get better pasta while having a little longer cleanup time. Maybe someone can figure out the perfect recipe where this machine can push the pasta through while not being sticky. For me figuring out the perfect recipe is not worth the hassle and I will just use my countertop machine when I want to make sprouted pasta.

Thinking of getting a concealed carry license for this!I find that ‘shooting’ directly into boiling water works well and my recipe makes 4servings (2 loads) so…perfect! I also found a recipe for CHOCOLATE noodles! Only wish there was a thinner spaghetti discthan comes with.
